Coming from the land of flying junctions, something like tower 18 is overwhelming just to look at. Its beautiful.

Strong, classical lines along the thirds, and the spots of colour in a loose triangle amongst all that grey - great composition here.

Love the snow in this image, and the way the cityscape disappears into the distance. Β Love the contrast between the almost B&W buildings and the bright color of the street and traffic light.

The compression makes the crossovers look even tighter.

Is this an EMU?

Those are subway cars (3200 series), well I consider subway cars to be EMU.

Do they use a third or forth rail?

Fourth rail?! This is something I've never heard before.

It runs on third rail.

Forth rail is something used on British railways on the London Underground

Does the USA have any Dual-Voltage electric vehicles?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

OverclockedBravo In reply to Dan-S-T [2014-01-14 02:01:24 +0000 UTC]

Not to that extent, we have dual modesΒ

i.e. Diesel and 3rd rail or Catenery (overhead) and 3rd rail. But as far as I know, we don't have 3rd and 4th railΒ systems.

Diesel and 3rd rail is electro-diesel and catenary and 3rd is dual-voltage
