Description

I managed to get my hands on a very old PS1 console, in working condition and still in very good quality (no scratches/marks).

It also came with the original box and a Crash 2 Demo Disk, which I am guessing was part of the official package.

It's one of those Playstations that had a slightly gold tint at the top of the console (even though it's hard to tell via the photo I have taken) and cost me around £50 to acquire.

It gives me so many memories of the old games I used to play, like: Crash, Spyro, Rayman, Digimon World, Metal Gear Solid, Oddworld, Legacy of Kain, Tomb Raider, Final Fantasy and many, many more.

I don't know why (probably cause I no-lifed them when I was younger) but whenever I think of the PS1, Spyro the Dragon, Digimon World and Metal Gear Solid, seems to stick with me the most.

I just get this sense of overwhelming Nostalgia, every time I look at it, which makes me want to just play some of my games from it.

No, I do not play any of my physical consoles. They are simply for collecting.

Ahh, the original PlayStation~ I have two of them, I use only the one though, because the other one is for parts that I can use to fix.

Cool, that sounds pretty useful.

I technically have two Playstations myself, however, the other one is my childhood PS1 that doesn't work anymore and I through-out the original box

(cause I was a dumb kid who didn't understand the concept of collecting video games yet) so it pretty much has no value. So I just got a new one.

Only thing I have experience with building/fixing is a PC, I have never been bothered to tinker around with consoles, mainly because I was really young when I used them.

It's actually quite easy if you open them up. Lol Thanks to my papaw, he taught me to tinker/observe what is wrong and try and fix it. I never tinkered with a PC before lol so you beat me there lol
And I understand lol I've done that before plenty of times when I was really young XD

That's nice, I wish my dad was interested in video game culture.

At least my mam was, but she didn't understand Hardware that well.

In all honesty, I am not either. I am still technically a novice in that field.

I am more of a Software kind of guy.

Oh I understand lol my papaw liked watching me play the games, but he never tried to play them lol He always thought it was too complicated at the time XD

Hoh man I played on my PS1 so much that the controller was all used up, hahaha. The PS was then sold by a family member who wanted a PS2 whoch was also sold later because the fellow needed money. He sold my KoF series as well without even telling me, like...damn.

Haha, I have a back-up Xbox 360 Controller (for my PC, its my 'main controller' since its my favourite), just incase this one breaks from too much use.

I think it might be soon on its way tbh, had it for a few years.

Man, what a bummer. I have experienced that myself, actually. My cousin, one night, slept at my house (in the sitting room, where my Xbox originally was, before I got one in my bedroom - since my mam played it back then)

and he stole my Xbox 360's Hard Drive, along with many of my games and sold them. And I am presuming it was for Hard Drugs. We obviously don't talk to him now for that exact reason. Practically a Kleptomaniac, if I am honest.

I guess some people just don't feel remorse for other people things.

Yikes, that's incredible...but not in a good way. He totally wore out his welcome.

Oh man, the first playstation was such a cool thing back in the day.
I use to have one, really great to see it again. And yours looks in top condition. I bet you have a lot of fun with this game. ^^

Yes, haha. I spent good money to find a PS1 with the original wires and box.

I am hoping to look for a Playstation 2 now!

Might be a while till I purchase one though, as my budget is running low, since I am trying to save up for a car.

You want to buy a ps2 brand new? I guess thats not easy to find. I have one, but its quite used up. I try to play it and don't work anymore. I feel upset because of that, I can't play my 2 favorite games anymore. Bully and Genji Dawn of the samurai(I think it was call). I recommend you those two games, they are quite fun to play.
Anyway a car its a big deal my friend. Hope you get one, its great to drive werever you want. ^^

It technically won't be brand new, but I want a one that is in good condition, yes.

I am even willing to spend more than I am supposed to, so long as it comes with everything.

Including a controller, the wires, the original box and even manuals.

I take the collecting very seriously, haha. It's the same with games, I need to have the manuals and everything.

That's a shame man :/ If you have a PC, I believe there is a port for Bully.

But yeah, I have played Bully back when I had a PS2. Was really fun to just throw a rubberband ball around and beat up nerds.

I don't think I have played Genji: Dawn of Samurai, but the name sounds familiar. I will definitely look into it.

Thanks for the recommendation.

Also, you're right. Having a car is a big deal. Especially when you're poor like me, haha.

You're very welcome
well, I don't have a car either.
I wish I knew how to drive, when I first try to drive it was not going well.
So to me its a little scary.

That makes sense, I too find it a little scary.

After all, anything could happen and it might not even be your fault.

Still, plenty of people do it. So it can't be that complicated.

I think it just needs practice.
