I managed to get my hands on the Japanese version of Spyro the Dragon for the Sony Playstation.
The physical copy of the game is extremely colourful!
It comes with a lot of wonderful artwork inside the manual and on the case.
It even includes an extra disk that I can't find any information on, due to:
A) Every review of this version online, has the Ape Escape Demo Disk on it and not this blue disk.
B) I can't read a majority of Japanese characters.
If you can find any information on it, that would be great!
EDIT: It is believed to be a Japanese Spyro 2 Demo Disk (Spyro x Sparx Tondemo Tours).

It's actually not that hard.
Infact, it's probably easier than getting your hands on an original PAL version.
It cost me around £12 on Amazon and took around 2-3 weeks to get here.
My GUESS, is that they still make Crash and Spyro merchandise in Japan, so the
price isn't heavily effected like with the American or European versions.

I like how the made the manual look like a children's story book kind of reminiscent of The Snowman by Raymond Briggs.

It's a bit hard to read, but I can make out "Spyro x Sparx" on the blue disc, possibly a demo of Spyro 2? (titled "Spyro x Sparx Tondemo Tours in Japan)

Ah, I assumed it was demo disk, but I didn't consider it could be a Japanese Spyro 2 demo!

I actually searched the code on the front of the disc (SCPS 10128) and got this: psxdatacenter.com/games/J/S/SC… and then this: page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/a… .
In short, you may actually have a copy of the full game. If you have a PAL playstation (or some other way to play the disc) it would be worth checking out.
