Strength is not measured in the power you wield, but the conviction to which you use that power you have.For the longest time, I have given Korra a hard time and have outright called her a horrible avatar. She still isn't a good avatar, but now I won't question if she is a good person.

Avatar Korra, she is stronger than she knows and the show brings that out. She is an Avatar in a new world, a new world where science has advanced but not the hearts. It shows that the Avatar is needed now more than ever, not to bring balance to the world but balance to the human heart. Avatar Korra you are strongest Avatar to come and the Avatar that will light the way for your descendants.

I understand the point your making strength is not power but conviction and frankly I fear for what will happen as the substance (red lotus venom) is mercury and it won't get better as the damage done to korra's arms and legs is permanent ... I supposed I made a joke to ease the tension

I don't think she's a bad avatar. Just badly written in the first seasons, I was glad to see her with no drama. I mean aside from the drama she'll probably have next season.

This episode really got to me...I have said that she wasn't all that good of an avatar. She has made bad moves. Not to mention playing men's hearts. But, I know all of the responsibility that she was born with. Seeing her struggle that hard, that near to death....Then the pain in her eyes and dark rings under her lids...In so much pain, being put in a wheelchair. Knowing her life has a 80% chance of being gone soon...I feel bad for all the horrible things I've said about her...I hope she'll be okay in the possible next season..?

Korra is definitely not the best Avatar, especially since she happened to be born in a world that is drastically different from her previous incarnations. But at least, her heart is in the right place, and it's not exactly an easy job to maintain balance in the world. The finale did some serious feelsbending to me, especially seeing Korra reduced to such a pitiful state. Oh sure, the Red Lotus is defeated (for now) and Jinora is now a certified airbending master, but she can't even walk!!
I made myself sad again.
