If you watched episode 10, then you'll get the idea here xD.
The picture
I actually felt like making something like this right after I finished watching ep 10. I wanted to figure out something clever between the two series, but I didn't want to actually lose the idea, so we'll just call this the first shot at the idea, and expect more to follow.
I got a bit of nostalgia drawing you know who, over on the right - but then I remembered That particular ending was also nightmare fuel
Anyone remember playing Chrono Trigger as a kid? The excitement of time traveling! But then... remember when you found out that your very existence is the only thing standing between the future, or the end of the world as it was prophesied.
...and when you failed, you didn't just get a game over screen, ooooooh no. This game REALLY let you know you F*CKED UP and you let everyone in the world EVERYONE IN THE TIME STREAM, down.

Reminds me of the multiple endings of Persona 4 - the normal ending just feels so unfulfilled it's like, well done, you finished, but you still suck.

Personally, Chrono Trigger is my favorite game! I finally got all 13 endings on the DS re-release about two months ago. I loved it on the SNES, bought FF Chronoicles for the PSOne with the new cutscenes and got everything there was to get on the DS copy. This is the game that truly introduced me to what it meant to have replay value.

Really well done,does bring back memories. I remember seeing that ending when my cousin played it and then my best friend got that ending with the final fight,but not I,I refused to loose and beat the game. Definately a classic RPG of all time.

The end from Secret of Mana is very sad and tragic as well.
You start in the Underworld to simply have fun with doing shit. ^^
Somehow normal life isnt working anymore, you have to become a HERO and you are going to "create" the Earth now. From scratch. 
And in the end... you face the "Overworld" you and he informs you that all your doing is just a plot of evil and the power of the underworld.
I dont know if he kills you then or is fusing with you, but later you play not as the underworld-you anymore.
If you come "home" short before the game ends, everyone is still an underworld-being and is attacking you instinctively.
Thats your 'payment' for warping through whole worlds and creating just everything.
Then you fight the endboss and if I remember correctly, your combined self is dying with him.
And still the guy "and" the blond looking girl looks familiar.
And in Secret of Mana, you are rescuing the whole world and must sacrifice a comrade when you fight the final boss of the game.

In a way,I can see why you think it's like Terranigma,which by the way is another Awesome SNES classic and a damn shame it was never released in the US. After comparing the two,in a way they both share the fact that they have to "change the future" one way or another. CT just uses time travel,while Terranigma is just pretty much restart/reborn the whole world all over again.

Your art is amazing! And making a Chrono Trigger fanart is definitely nostalgic to me as it was one of the greatest games I've ever played. Now, for the drawing, it is very loyal to the theme and the game. The expression really reflects defeat and despair and the colors you've apply again more real than life. Truly, this is one of the greatest CT fanarts I've seen in my life!

...Geeze, and I just rewatched Madoka 10 as well OTL I am in conflict over the awesomeness and sheer depressing levels of this.
