Test Animation 5: Little Rel - Rough ver.THIS is an animation I started a little while ago. (I've been trying to get used to animating in flash for so long LOL)
You all know how adorable *joodlez 's characters are, yeah? Well I couldn't help but use them in one of my attempts to learn Flash They're all round and adorable, so they weren't too hard to animate.
The animation
The premise, was to have her playing a game of hide n' seek with her brother (Nocty). I stopped just before a cute montage of failed seeking on Rel's part. I wonder what I was on when I was working on this.
Eventually I do plan to come back and complete this one, so keep an eye on this one. Instead of uploading a new post, I'm just going to update this one.
This is the rough version of this animation. Each frame will be be re-lined to prepare for color.
Much of the background is also missing
Screen transitions still need to be edited, and additions need to be made for better story telling

I love how, when she peers over the box and tilts herself to the side, her head and body actually look "3D". :"D Or at least it gives off that feeling. Maybe that's what was trying to say? Anyway, so cool how you managed to get that effect without using colour ! C= You're really good at drawing side profiles too. ♥

Pretty promising for a rough!
I love the quick movements with the overlapping clothes. The way you animated them almost makes her clothing look floaty, but in a good way because it works with the character's cuteness.
Also, DAT HEAD MOVE before she kneels down :3

great smear tweens and poses at the beginning, secondary animation, and I like the perspective head tilt as she approaches the chest. obviously a style thing, but I would take a few inbetweens out of the expression changes (specifically the grin right before she opens the chest and the last expression) just so it doesn't feel too swimmy.
I just noticed too, I love how she gets up by planting her hands first

A flip book DEFINITELY counts as an animation. Frame rate/fps are pretty much how many frames you would see within the span of "one second"
As for getting better drawing bodies? it's been a long road, and honestly I'm still traveling it. Best to study some anatomy books, check around for helpful tutorials, and study life most of all!

Even if it's unfinished it's still really nice! I love that piece of animation where she kind of rolls her head. It's nice seeing animation from you again! (It's the reason why I started watching you!!!)

As for studying animation. I don't have any formal training outside of an elective class I took in highschool. ( and that was just so I could draw during school : ) )

I love how weightless her outfit seems in the movement! And even with such a short story (not that 200+ frames is an easy feat) the story is clearly told! Job well done!!
