Could be, or any other Ambassador-class starship.

True but the only well know Ambassador-class is NCC-1701-C

No, in fact there is a nother from TNG season 1; the U.S.S. Horatio which was commanded by Capt. Picard's friend Walker Keel . We only see her exploded remains, but she is mentioned in S1x24 "Conspiracy ". In the episode the briefly met on Dytallix B . Other ships of that class that were mentioned in the series were:

  • USS Excalibur (NCC-26517)
  • USS Yamaguchi (NCC-26510)
  • USS Zhukov (NCC-26136)
We only saw the Excalibur briefly in "Redemption" ; Riker briefly took command to help Picard establish a Tachyon detection grid to prevent the Romulans from interfering in the Klingon civil war. They obviously re-used the Enterprise-C studio model though, so you're not entirely wrong.

Oh whoops didn't look at the numbers on her nacelles thought she was the Enterprise-B

The Enterprise-B was an Excelsior-class starship.

Yes, she is, also given the Trek history she's been involved in.

Thank you; yes, the Ambassador-class is a great design. While I find the Galaxy-class to be the most graceful Star Trek based design I've seen in the shows/movies to date, I would certainly have not minded if they had used Andrew Probert's Ambassador design as the Enterprise-D!

The Ambassador class is very pretty. ^^ I always loved how round it was, it lends the ship a certain softness and elegance compared to it's peers (quite the opposite of the stabbity-looking Sovereign or Intrepid classes).

The lighting here with the atmospheric detail is really beautiful, though, and the way the shading and reflections are on the ship is very well done.

Thank you very much. I can't take credit for the ship though, only for the composition (and how it's depicted).

Shiny hull. Ensign Ramsay had been asked to fix the replicator on the bridge and instead of coffee it produced a cup of sausages. So... since the hull needed a good clean...

mmmm....sausage coffee XD

so does that mean that they used the sausage juice to buff the outer surface?
