She didn't have to do that much tricking. YD already turned her back on the enemy. Pearl used her tactical advantage and some added momentum to YD's face with a swift hand. The repeatedly closing fridge door did the rest.

I'm pretty sure they confirmed Yellow Diamond's "Helmet" is actually her hair.
Granted one of the writers in her livestream said otherwise one time, but it was said to be an error on her part.

It's a really funky design. As soon as it's confirmed on screen that it is her hair, I'll start drawing it that way. Until then I'll keep switching between pacman hair and spiky helmet at my leisure.
