Description
See the Updated Version (sort of) here, [link]Hello anyone who decided to look at this abomination unto all things art. Some of you may recall that I originally drew "Cream and Cosmo: A Light Snack." Well...this is the same thing but now I colored it (I'm innovative!).
Some things you might notice:
1) No Shading: I plan to write, not draw, for a living so whenever I draw something, it's because I'm bored and really wanna see a scene I thought of on physical paper in a lesser quality than what I can see in my head. Given that, I can't be bothered to do more than just the basics. The only real shading I have here is on Cosmo's legs. Yes, those are her legs and not just stubs from what used to be her legs...I added that little field of black to help create the illusion of depth...probably didn't work out that well.
2) The outlines might suck: I've drawn and colored pictures in the past but I've normally been content to just leave my pencil outlines in there and not make them any more noticeable except in a few cases. Now that I've seen what it's like to ink my drawings...I'll probably never do it again. That's hard work and it takes forever. I salute those of you who ink drawings. Despite what some people think, you do NOT just simply trace. And even if you did, it's hard work if you wanna do it right.
3) The background's terrible: In the black and white drawing, I noticed you can still see the images I erased whilst drawing this pic so I wanted to cut the background out and make a simple kitchen as the new backdrop (no real effort would have gone into it). However, my magnetic lasso tool proved to suck as it tried to cut off things that I wanted to keep so I just paint bucket filled as much as I could with white. After all the time and energy I spent just inking this picture, I couldn't be bothered to go another 9 yards for the background's sake.
4) The art quality itself sucks: ...That's because I suck (you can tell I'm serious because the "I" was caps-locked to give it emphasis). As I said in my first pic, you're more than welcome to re-draw what you see here if you think you can do better than me. Just let me know how it turns out.
Anything else you need to know about this pic can be found in my comment on the b&w version (do I smell product placement?) though I'll be more than happy to answer any questions, comments, etc you may have for this one.
One last time, I'd like to thank Canime, Green-Knight, and Limpurtikles for helping me with this pic, whether you knew you did or not.
Thanks for watching.

Actually, I don't think I had an ending fo this story; least of all one where Cosmo got out of this situation. Cream doesn't need any help finishing this meal. And even if Tails did find out, Cream's willing to add fox to the menu.
...Of course, Shadow and Cream teaming up for any other mayhem and violence is totally up or grabs, given the way I write her.
Thanks for the comment!

Even if people hate her, I love Cream and that's something nobody can change! She's my favorite sonic girl in Sonic X and Sega. She's cute, beats up robots with her own feet and cheese her chao, she has perfect gloves for an 8 year old, and she is the perfect kid for sonic!

Sorry for the late response.
That's true. I used to wonder why Tails would hang around animals he'd normally eat. Either he knows he wouldn't get away with it, or he's biding his time until he's fully grown. Surely, he'd be unstoppable then.

Coolio. Old conversations are like a time capsule: they open your eyes to a time that your spelling and grammar were worse and show you just how stupid you used to be. Man, looking back sucks.
Another good question. I can understand Tails eating the chili dogs, but herbivores? Then again, my iguana tries to eat anything he can get his mouth around. I guess animals aren't as strict with their eating habits as we want them to be and Sonic, ever the rebel, likes raising a giant middle finger to our sense of logic every time he eats. What a jerk.
Heh heh...Thanks. Not my best work. Not even one I tried that hard on, but I really wanted to have Cosmo talk like a valley girl and I couldn't think of anything else to explain the other picture.

That's another way of thinking about it...I'll probably always look on the negative side though.
There is that too. Of all the animals they could have picked, why did they go with one that doesn't run fast? Was the store out of Cheetahs?

True. However, Sonic usually stays with at least some earthly logic. He doesn't respect space, though. He doesn't need to breathe in space, but in water... And how does rouge fly in space?

Ozz-the-Wanderer In reply to Tangerine102 [2012-03-18 21:08:38 +0000 UTC]
I think all of the space physics mess-ups come from SA2. If that's the case, I think Space Colony Ark likely had its own atmosphere. With all the monorails and open passages on the Ark, there'd be no way the humans could survive there, even if the animal characters could (the series does seem to acknowledge human capacities and weaknesses even if the animals are seemingly made of iron). I could be grasping at straws, but that's the way it always struck me.
The last boss fight in SA2 certainly puts that theory to the test though. It's possible Super Forms can breathe in space (hence why Shadow seemingly died when he couldn't stay Super at the end of the fight), but that may be stretching it.

Tangerine102 In reply to Ozz-the-Wanderer [2012-03-18 21:13:47 +0000 UTC]
I hadn't even thought of that. I was referring to the final battle vs the metarex. Although now that i think, that happens in almost every episode of that arc. I did notice that chris and eggman wore space suits, but that still doesn't explain how rouge flies.

Oh, well that's Sonic X. Considering how many characterizations that show got wrong, I don't consider anything about it to be cannon towards the rest of the series. Shadow did the "remove bracelets for more power" schtick in '06 like he did in X, but that's pretty meaningless in the grand scheme of things.
A lot of things are weird about X (no offense if you liked the show). The space physics like characters breathing in space (so long as they're only 2ft tall for whatever reason) and Rouge needing to flap her wings in a vacuum are just small parts of the problem.
Sonic X or no, I guess it's better the series doesn't go into space anymore.

I liked the show (mostly due to Taismo), but i agree that it was weird. And i agree about the canon, or lack thereof.
Going into space does cause problems.
And, in the words of the space core, "SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE! I'm in space!"

Ozz-the-Wanderer In reply to Tangerine102 [2012-03-21 04:16:17 +0000 UTC]
Taismo and the Metarex were the highlight of the show for me. It was nice to see a more serious take on a Sonic cartoon, but there were other ways they could have handled it.
And in the words of the Muppets: PIGS! IN! SPAAAAAAAAACE!

Ozz-the-Wanderer In reply to Tangerine102 [2012-03-21 20:10:12 +0000 UTC]
I maintain that Chris wasn't an entirely bad character. If the show was handled differently to focus more on his connection to Sonic rather than sloppily importing half a dozen characters all at once and doing nothing with them, Chris could have been interesting rather than annoying. I was actually feeling for him in the second-to-last episode of the pre-Metarex show. Things probably would have been better still if it just wasn't a Sonic show and made its own characters.
That's one way of thinking about it. Certainly much less annoying than whining about the show. Good point.

I'm not sure how much the dub changed things in the earlier episodes, but I understand the Metarex stuff was watered down a considerable amount.
I doubt Japan's up to do another Sonic show though, so I guess we don't have to worry about 4Kids lining their pockets again. As I understand it, the Metarex story has yet to air in Japan because of how poorly the first series was received over there.

Of course. In fact, your fanfiction's probably helped by the lack of extra material. Leaves you with more possibilities to exploit.

Good reasons. Plus, it's the only series that really took itself seriously (even if it was dull or looked stupid in the process at times). Every other Sonic show is Looney Tunes shenanigans (though I LOVE that show) or garage bands.

Right. Sonic X's plot, while not the greatest, was still interesting. I'm plot-driven in my choice of entertainment, and it's getting harder and harder to find quality.

It seems a lot of shows today are focusing on long plots. I don't know how most of them are doing though. With MLP and the like on the rise though, I've recently taking a real liking to character-heavy stories (though I've always been a fan of Quentin Tarantino's work for that reason). The rare combinations of plot and character tend to be pretty good from what I've seen.

Itβs nice when that happens. I love seeing a character develop due to the events unfolding around him/her. It takes a skilled writer to do that, though.
And I adhere to Chekovβs Gunman. I hate seeing single-use characters. On the flip side, I love seeing a little-used character get a moment in the limelight.

Ozz-the-Wanderer In reply to Tangerine102 [2012-03-28 01:11:59 +0000 UTC]
So true. On both fronts. Even if a situation doesn't change a character, it's still fun to see them respond to the world around them in ways only they would. Seeing who a character is outside of the main conflict (or oftentimes in the conflict too) is always interesting and reminds you that they're people and not just plot devices.
I haven't read all of TV Tropes' Chekhov articles, but I've been meaning to. While I'm not against killing characters, I agree that one-shot characters are a bad move. A Captain America story from a few years back introduced new villains that had a unique connection to Cap and brought psychological issues and super powers to the table that would be interesting to play with over the years, but the story saw fit to kill them before it was over. I couldn't help but feel they missed out on a lot of potential with them.
I love the limelights too. They obviously can't happen frequently, but they tend to be pretty awesome/amusing/heartwarming when they do come around. I recently saw an episode of Bleach that focused on one of the hero's classmates. The episode explored so much of the character that I wanted to see them in more episodes, but I know that will never happen to the degree I'm looking for because it's an action show and the character has no powers to fight with.

That's one reason I love the redwall series. It lets you see the story from the perspective of the villains and the heroes.
Chekov's gunman characters can also be trite, though. Like the mysterious visitor in chapter 2 is actually the hero's brother, ior other stuff like that.

Right. Those kinds of characters are rarely that interesting. I'm not gonna say that they never work...but they're normally pretty easy to spot and aren't that satisfying a reveal.
