Description Background picture by me, taken at Mexico city's downtown. I experimented with a bump map on my own pic, I think it kinda did the trick.

Poser, 3ds Max and Photoshop.

Thank you very much! As I said in the previous comment, there's still room for improvement. I hope you stick around to see that.

I agree with the previous comment - you have mastered the mix of 3D and RL pic well here. The bumps on the wall adds a rugged and real feel to it as well. Character looks great with good skin, real looking face (my own nemesis) plus great looking hair.

Well, thank you very much! But I wouldn't say mastered, there's a lot of room for improvement, these are still the first steps.
As for the face and hair, 4 words: God bless my Wacom!
Thank you!

did you use the background pix in the render? looks awsomely 3d and the light cast seems perfect.

I do. I added the photograph to a wall and I added a bump map to the pic to make it more 3D. I also used the same amount of lights in the scene, and from the same directions, as in the street where I took the pic, that way they match the background even better.
Thank you!

All I know is that a Quad core processor and 2 GB of RAM with Windows XP 32 bits, which don't allow me to use the full potential of my PC. I need Windows 7.
