Hehe You're not the first one to mention a tutorial, but I can assure you that I'm the biggest Max amateur.
Thank you, Mario!

Except for the shape of the face, this looks absolutely lifelike.

Yeah, this isn't the best angle for her face, but I think this character is pretty, I'll have to do another render to favour her face over her legs. LOL
Thank you very much!

Thank you!
The outfit is the Slinky town USA (or something like that. Slinky something.) and the shoes are the V4 strap heels.

Nice POV.

One technical question if I may. When you go from Poser to 3DS Max, do you export the file as an .obj or are do you use a tool to port it across. I've been struggling a bit with doing the same thing from D|S and not getting the results I'd hoped for.

Thank you!
Yes, I export the file as an OBJ, that way I can also manipulate it it Max.
There is a plugin called Poser Fusion that allows you to import Poser scenes into Max, but that way you can't manipulate the mesh. I guess that you can do the same thing from DAZ.

You're welcome.

Cool. I'm doing the same thing as you then, sounds like I just need to spend a little more time in D|S first to correct some of the issues I then find in Max. Do export each item seperately and then combine them again or just export the figure and clothes as one mesh and deal with the result in Max?

You can export them together or separately, it doesn't make any difference in Max, all the poses and positions are saved. Oh, and I forgot to mention that Max will ask you for ALL the textures, so, you can either move all the textures you're using to the same folder where you put the OBJ, or you can do what I did, which is, I created a specific folder for the OBJ's inside Poser's texture folder, that way Max locates the textures without asking me any questions.

omg so THATS how to do it X_x i was trying to figure out if i did something wrong cause max was asking for all these damn textures...

Ascavilya In reply to ozzboyd [2010-10-21 09:36:28 +0000 UTC]

Thanks for the tips. I've been exporting the textures with the objects (getting Daz to make a copy and then save them in the folders I use for my Max work), so it sounds like we are get the same results with a different method. I guess the issues I've been facing is say a jacket not fitting the pose correctly in Daz so when the OBJ is exported it shows up badly in Max.
