i just got back to a trip on dingalan, aurora province, and visited the ports and beaches trhere where i took home several shell species as the ones pictured here...nice work by the way

this reminds me of my grandmother's collection of seashells - she has/had all the same ones as in your painting. i keep meaning to find the boxes and bring out more of them to display

Actually - if you are into shells for wallpaper, I might have a much better one for you - not as "busy" as the painting. It's a photo of a giant clam son no. 2 took. I used it as wallpaper for quite a while but now I've switched to a field of tulips = springtime....
'll have to hunt around for it a bit - must be somewhere among my back-up files.... I hope

Yes, one does get rusty after a long pause from painting, but it'll come back fast, you'll see! Anyway, it's great to hear that you are wielding your brushes again!

As I predicted the rain arrived with Tom's parents! The weather has been awful, only a couple of really good days! They are all very exicted at being together and Tom's dad had a great birthday last Sunday...thankfully one of the sunny days

Aaarrrggghhh!!! But isn't it always like this? Lovely weather before... and the visitors arrive and it's bucketing down! And you sure predicted it, I remember!
Well, I wouldn't mind one bit sending some of our sunshine (and temperature!!!) over to you! Here it's hot, hot, HOT, and I'm painting with a small towel around my neck.... to catch the drips of perspiration before they fall on the picture!
The only salvation at the moment is the pool. Not that jumping in is in any way refreshing, mind you (water temperature = 31 degrees C!!), but with a wet swimsuit and a bit of a breeze... on my floating armchair "anchored" at the shady end of the pool under the frangipany tree... with a nice book and a cool drink.... well, things could be a lot worse I suppose!
