Ms. Pat, you never fail to amaze me with every painting you do. I think this is my favorite one just because of all the colors and how well you captured the colors in each shell. You are too good!

Well, fancy that! You speak German!!! How can that be??? I was born in Germany, and lived there until age 11. Are you German or do you just speak the language?

errr.... did I write in German to you???
Anyway - yes, I am German. Born and raised there, left when I was 21.

Well, I noticed that someone made a comment in German on your shell painting, and that you replied in German. I've been spying on you! What a small world. How long have you lived in the Philipines? That's my sneaky way of finding out how old you are, ha, ha...Now I'm really intriegued about where you are from (in Germany) and how you happend to end up where you are now.

Oh, right!
That would be "Venet". He's from Slovenia and seems to be a lot more fluent in German than in English. Btw, you might want to have a look at his gallery - he's a very good watercolourist, even if for some reason or other he hasn't posted anything new in a while.
As for the rest of the conversation..... I think we'd better move this to "Notes", OK?

If your friend, Venet is an architechtural designer, then I've just met him.(not in person, of course) He sent me a thank and a lovely compliment on my gallery. He has a very interesting gallery. Yes, I agree, his watercolours are lovely. I'll have to go back some time. I also like what he's done to his home. So unique and colourful.

He is... or would be, but he seems to be very busy lately with some TV project or other - no time for painting, hasn't uploaded any lovely watercolours in a long time

I doubt that there'll be a better one anytime soon: I took so many shots.... but the thing just doesn't want to look "right" somehow. I'm sure it's not the camera's fault, I'm afraid I'm just a lousy photographer

Well, it's not easy to take a good photo of artwork. Sometimes they come out a bit washed out looking for me, then I adjust them in photoshop to get as close as possible to the original. I find it hard to get it square without distorted border. Still learning how to use my camera. I think most of your paintings look great, so I don't think you are a bad photographer at all.

Wow, this is fantastic ! I'm envious that you painted it so fast and so well...I absolutely love it, and will post it on my site soonest! If this photo is so great, I can only imagine how good the actual painting is. Thanks for taking the challenge...!
Excellent!!!!

Of course I'm going to fave it! I'm so proud of you! You did such a great job on this. You are an inspiration to me, because I see you finishing one painting every week. I would like to be able to do that. You are modest, too! Anyway, I really enjoyed seeing how you interpret the same subject I was painting, in the same medium. I just wish I could zoom in a little closer, to see your technique a bit better. But I can always do that in your other paintings. Thank you again for doing this! I hope there will be many other entries. Mine will be going up soon, now that I am able to submit new work again. I worked on my shell painting today. It's hard to pick it up again after a long break from it. Anyway, if I still like it tomorrow, I will finish it and it should be up by tomorrow, Scout's honour!

Oh great, thanks so much!
Just now I was belly-aching to Karin about the lousy photo.... But the painting really does look better in real life

Oops, sorry, yes that was a bit ambiguous. Of course I mean the photo of my painting - not Karin's lovely photo, good heavens, NO!
