Since the weather refuses to lighten up, I am forced to produce a sombre-toned photograph. I hate the winter, just look at that dark veil of cloud...
I know I recently did an umbrella piece, and I know umbrellas are ridiculously over-used in conceptual photography. There is a reason for that though; umbrellas are awesome. There should be a stamp in support of umbrellas... (someone make one!)
Anyway, this is my brother modeling for me once again, as I apparently have no friends.
Photoshop for levels, channel mixing, dodging/burning, noise reduction and cropping.

I really really like this. I personally love umbrellas, and I also really love the composition of this, the pose and how the values are arranged so we only can discern certain parts of him. I'm also curious as to how you shot it (assuming it's not photomanipulation).

This really caught my eye...last year i went through a phase where i was obsessed with umbrella doodles and photography...no specific reasoning, just realized how great they are and made an obsession out of it.

Personally I love winter, and I'm so jealous that you actually get to experience cold weather. Here in California all we get is sun sun sun! I would love to live somewhere, where the seasons were actually right.

this is frickin wicked!! my best friend and i did a similar shot while jumping off of my house on to my trampoline [do not try with an umbrella unless experienced!]

For some reason, I just love the fact that the umbrella is facing so upright, and that the legs are so bent.
It just adds to the overall effect, I think.
