The classic Vamps were the best. Mr Barlow had a great entrance! Denholm Elliot wasn't bad though in the '68 TV Dracula.

Oh yes Kurt Barlow was great. I must admit I've never seen Denholm Elliot, but I'd add the both Nosferatus Max Schreck and Klaus Kinski to that list .

The Elliot is 'Dracula '68 tv film' on yt. A bit cheap and stagy but he got the lines that Lee didn't. 'Shadow of the Vampire' with Dafoe as Nosferatu wasn't bad.

Ah thanks yes indeed, on the first sight, it looks very minimalistic when it comes to cinematography but on the other hand somehow claustrophobic as well, not only because of the 4:3 format but even more because of the camera positioning, which leaves the impression to be in the middle of it, which obviously is an advantage in this genre. Didn't see Shadow of the Vampire either, it seems to have a good cast as well and yeah Willem Dafoe's face and his expression play is, without any offense, perfect for such roles. Thanks for the recommendations!

Ah, a vampire of the Nosferatu vampiric strain.
Did you know Pathfinder has introduced stats for Nosferatu?
Their basically vampires who are immortal (as long as they aren't destroyed) but continue to age as the centuries go by.

thanks a lot , I must admit I didn't even know there is a game called Pathfinder. So I had to check it out and it looks really great and extensive. I was wondering about the races, as you've mentioned they even have different vampire types, even more as Pathfinder seems an overall fantasy game and not so specialized like Vampire the Masquerade, but I'm positively surprised they have a vast amount of different races (beside the classical (or core) ones), which makes the whole universe even more interesting. It's great they'll include Nosferatu, as with regard to the old classic movie, he's/it's/they're obviously the best (at least when it comes to the cinematic outcome) lol. Cheers and best regards

Yeah, Nosferatu is a vampire "template" that can be applied to monsters of the humanoid or monstrous humanoid type.
While Pathfinder allows for players to play evil aligned PC's, playing good or generally lawful (or at the very least neutral/selfish but with standards) types are encouraged.
I tried playing Vampire the Masquerade only to be horrified with discovering that players (at least in my area) always play as evil assholes who torture, rape, and do shit that offends me to the core. So I went back to D&D and when 3.5 Dungeons and Dragons became 4th Edition and Wizards of the Coast became hell bent on making as much money possible at the expense of good gameplay and the player then I switched to Paizo Publishing's Pathfinder RPG.
While I've sense gone back a few times to play 5th edition D&D (and will admit 5th Edition D&D is a lot more fleshed and thought out than 4th), I still love Pathfinder as my #1 RPG System (that and Star Wars Saga Edition RPG).

I've never played Vampire, lol I'm slightly shocked people play it that way, so I don't wonder you turned to an other game. To be honest the only pen&paper game I somehow played regularly was Shadowrun. Unfortunaly I never played the classic D&D games, although I've always been more to the classic medieval fantasy theme than to sci-fi or cyberpunk, but somehow it turned out that my friends played Shadowrun, probably because our gamemaster had all the (rule)books, and we somehow never managed to switch to another game. There were short tries of playing The Dark Eye (a German somehow copy of D&D), a Lord of the Rings P&P and some other whose name I forgot, but at the end we stayed with Shadowrun. Pathfinder seems great, but as half of my friends I played with got kids now, we wouldn't manage to play or even introduce such an extensive game :-/.
But it's really impressive how fast Pathfinder spread and became a true competitor for D&D, outselling it even in a few years (something probably never happened before). So it seems, at least for someone with a such a little background as me, that the 5th Edition D&D was, as you said so fleshed and thought out, that they could back their first spot on the selling list. Which means there might be a chance it wouldn't be worked out so well and put as much effort in, when there wasn't such a great and succesfull Pathfinder game.

Ah nice and thanks, I will check it out then, I think it's even free on amazon stream now, lol but I hope I can deal with the look, as it seemed some kind (at least in the trailer) of "the office"ìsh cinematographically. ps sorry for the late reply and best regards
