• Story (in progress):

Alaric was born in the wild. He was the only son of a lone Djavulmarr mare. Although she wasn't the most loving mother she protected him and gave him safety. However when he reached the age of 12 he was captured by humans who had ill intentions with him. His mother had tried to protect him but she was shot and died trying to save her son. The humans had no use for her as they knew about the bad temperament Djavulmarr mares possessed.

He was caught to be trained for and entered in illegal Djavulmarr races. His handlers were only in it for the money and Alaric was nothing more than a tool to get what they wanted. His training was vicious and his handlers cared little about his health or safety. He was pushed to keep up the Veltrus for much longer than was safe. Over the years he came close to death on several occasions almost all were caused by overheating and exhaustion.

In an attempt for him to gain even more stamina his handlers started drugging him. All kind of peppers were tried out as he participated in the illegal races. They worked for what they wanted but it didn't take long for his body to start noticing the damage these drugs were doing. Tolerance to the drugs was built up and he needed more and more to attain the same effect. Dependence was growing and soon his body started to show signs of withdrawal symptoms when he didn't get his drugs.

Not only his body but his mind was also starting to change due to the drug usage. Years of being abused by his handlers and pushed to every limit had left the stallion mentally unstable and fragile. The drugs only enhanced these traits and his mind started to unravel.

When Alaric was just caught he'd been a rather timid stallion. He was one to avoid confrontation and he was submissive when necessary. As the years of his training and racing added up he started to grow very skittish and scared. He did everything his handlers asked of him in order to avoid the abuse he would get when he didn't live up to their expectations. In the arena this trait didn't work though. The other Djavulsmarrs were vicious and weren't afraid to bite, kick or cut their opponents to get to the first place. Therefore another personality was needed in order to survive in the ring. A personality that wasn't afraid of getting hurt or hurting others. Slowly but surely this other personality started to grow stronger and more twisted. Alaric was winning almost every race he entered by the age of 16. His name was growing famous in the illegal Djavulsmarr racing circles. He was earning his handlers big money and he was entered in more advanced races.
This personality is triggered by entering the ring, racing, stress and excitement.

So I actually don't have a lot of time right now but I just really wanted to upload my new baby's reference sheet! I am really loving this breed and this boy. There's more to his story than what's written right now but I will edit it later!
