This is the one I used when I just got my tablet. I don't do it that way anymore exactly but it still somewhat resembles it.

i recomend getting gimp instead its free and has most of the same features as photoshop. including making ur own brushes and such

Well to be honest I don't know. But Photofiltre is really limited so I don't think you'll get far with it. Paint tool SAi I hear a lot of good things about though.

Yeah photofiltre is, but studio x isn't really limited, has like everything gimp has too. Only other names.
Photofiltre doesn't even have layers, but studio x version does

How did you get the highlight color to be so golden? I have had no such luck

Did you have the dodge settings on midtones? And it also really depends on what kind of shade of brown you're working with. My highlights aren't always golden ^^

Thanks for the tut, Ive been trying to find ways to shade on photoshop (i just got it on the second of feb. which was my bday) and i always ignored the dodge and burn tool! Ill definatley try that!
