I'm in the middle of trying out different patterns by different makers. I want to learn as much about patterning as I can before starting to make my own. I bought this donkey pattern when I just started out and then I didn't understand the instructions enough to make him. Now that I have some experience in sewing and plush making I decided to give him a go. This donkey has a lot more realistic proportions when compared to the plushies I've made up till now. I think when I make my own patterns I want to end up a bit in the middle of cute and realistic.
This pattern and the instructions are maybe more in the direction of an art doll than just a plushie. I didn't make him all according to the instructions. I kept the hooves from fleece instead of leather and I don't have fabric markers yet, so no painted markings.
I accidentally sewed the hooves shut without using the round fabric to make the bottoms. So that was a mistake xD He has very flat hooves now Also my pen markings are visible on the white fabric around his eyes, oops I tried to paint it white but that somehow made it worse.
He has a wire armature that was supposed to make him posable but I think the wire is too thin, he isn't posable. You can only turn his head a little to the sides.
I'm not super happy with how he turned out. I do like the head shape, especially from the side. And he has some angles where he looks pretty cute But I was definitely a bit messy with sewing and the body didn't turn out super good. I'm also not a fan of the way the neck is attached in this pattern and instructions.
As I say about pretty much all the plushies I make, I did learn a lot from him. I'll be keeping these head shapes in mind for the future! And I won't be forgetting to add in the hoof bottoms again

This plushie is another give away! He's free for anyone who wants him! Do keep in mind that he has the mentioned mistakes so he's not a perfect plush!
The plush itself is free and I'm willing to pay half the shipping fee c: Shipping prices can vary a lot so my maximum will be 10 euros. So to use an example. If the shipping fee would be 10 euros I would pay 5 and you would pay 5. If the shipping fee would be 30 euros I would pay 10 and you would pay 20.
I live in the Netherlands so anywhere in Europe would be the cheapest. I am open to shipping him to other continents but keep in mind that you'll be paying most of the shipping fees than.
Please note that this plush is not suitable for young children. You also can't put him in the washing machine.
