Description
So- I get this cool idea on how I can make a picture to Commodore64 "ascii" art converter-- and I go and create a palette with all the sixteen colours, and then all combinatrions of those 16 blended with the other 15 50% for each one.. made sense in m'head that did.. either way.. that took ages.. and writing the code caused many many issues.. you think I'd let it go? Frikkin' whole evening gettin' it to produce the theoretical output guiwise..And ya know what I remembered at 1am? You can't CHANGE the frikking BACKGROUND colour of an individual tile on the C64.. you can invert a char or change the entire background colour.. but not for individual characters..
But it was fun all the same..
Entirely useless script right now.. but I figured I'd share where I got with it.. I'mma work on it s'more and get it to work in such a way that it'll display actual possible basic C64 text output..
'tis m'icon, obviously..
Go you big red fire engine!

It was on an old PC that got erased. It's gone. I'm still a bit miserable about it. Hopefully I'll rewrite something like this someday. I loved this thing. :j

Well, this is not ASCII art anyway, would belong under Screenshots. But I like the idea, not much Commodore stuff on DeviantART.

Cool! This pic looks very painterly. I don't think I got the process (read: is technologically-challenged ) but I think the results are pretty good. I've always wanted to try ascii art, but I never had the patience.
