Aquatic style D&D gets no love. Which is too bad, 'cause pirates get used all the time, and all you need is to give out helms/rings/whatever of free action to let players still swing swords freely.

Naw, my goal as a DM is to make sure players can go anywhere to meet/fight cool monsters. D&D is about cool monsters in excess of anything that any reasonable ecosystem can ever support.
