Description Playing around with some more Photoshop stuff. I figure that someone has to research all those weird D&D creatures somehow.

This kinda reminds of an AD&D game I ran years ago. The party ran into an Imp & the first thing they did was look at each other & then me & yell SPELL COMPONENTS!

Earlier they had mentioned selling parts of unusual monsters to Magic-Users.
That poor poor Imp lost the initiative roll...

This is my favorite out of your artwork. Very well done, and absolutely LOVE the subject (what can I say, I geek out on biology.) Like how you gave the beholder some internals.

Thank you! I mean it had problems but like lots of other times, I was all THIS IS SO COOL I MUST LAUNCH MYSELF INTO IT RIGHT NOW! I figure beholder anatomy is vaguely like an echinoderm, where you've got digestive system and gonads everywhere, and tucked in the middle of all of it is some sort of ginormous brain.

Yea, never had thought about it that way, but an urchin would make for a good beholder anatomy analogy.

Part of the amusement also comes from the age old question: if you were a D&D class, what would it be? Yea, I would so be the guy cutting up the monster at the end to see what made it tick.

Druid, I'd like to think. But my Wis and Cha scores aren't all that great.

Yeah, I see what you mean - ah, well, there's next time... and I still have the file somewhere so I can tweak it if I want. YES!

For some reason I really like this idea. Would you mind if I used it as a quest in the next campaign I run?
