'Sa good soundtrack, and a good game, it just has a different flavor from the first two. The soundtrack though, it's almost... bluesy in parts. Like, Mill Fever is taken directly from an Elvis song. And the overworld chords remind me of the beginning of Gimme Some Lovin' but I don't know if that's intentional [link]

Yeah, its definitely different than the first two (probably because it was by Evyline Fischer instead of Dave Wise), but its still pretty good. DKC2's soundtrack is the best in my opinion (there isn't a SINGLE track in that score that I don't like), and you're right, DKC3's soundtrack is definitely more bluesy. It's funny, those chords of Gimme Some Lovin' really do make me think of DKC3! Especially the guitar version, with the distant sounding, bluesy chords...
And if you've heard Grant Kirkhope's menu theme for Viva Pinata, there's one part that really sounds like those chords. [link]

Anyway, I think Dave Wise's soundtrack for the Gameboy Advance DKC3 was also really good.

I agree, DKC2's soundtrack is simply phenomenal. It's not DKC3's fault it can't live up to THAT.

Yeah, I quite liked it. I really wish I could hear those tracks in higher quality. Funnily enough, though, while some tracks were good, others seemed rather lacking. I have to guess that Mr. Wise purposefully didn't pull out all his best ideas for a remake that was going to be experienced with the very limited sound quality of a GBA...

It was odd though, to go through levels you were used to hearing a certain tune with, and hear something totally different. Like the really jolly boardwalk tune, replaced by a melancholy, atmospheric one. But what takes the cake is running away from a giant saw while extremely happy music that sounds like background music for a sing-along on Dora the Explorer plays in the background. (...to be fair, I actually am really fond of that track. XD But it was just sooo unfitting in that context.)
