As the month drew to a close, more and more Pokémon were beginning their journey back to Tao Village. William had yet to officially join the Order of the Sun, and as the days passed he began to lose faith in himself. He wondered if being a Dark-type prevented him from performing benevolent acts by his own volition. Sure, he had done plenty to help out around the cathedral since his arrival, and his Guild assignments as well, but he didn't feel that they counted. They simply weren't sincere enough, he thought, because he was just doing as he should.

But sometimes, he would eventually learn, the most sincere forms of good are realized without thought or reasoning, and find direction from the heart.

And, that our understanding of 'should' defines our limits and potential for good. Whether or not what we do is done because of our faith in someone else, or spontaneously, it reflects our values. And, whether or not we ourselves see what we do, others will.

William did join the Order. He formalized his request to join the order by offering to help with the orphans. He wasn't told, but the decision to accept him had already been made.
