Description [Here we have cameos from , and !]

For a while, William just stood staring at the blockage. It wasn't a large river, but it was enough to make the Sneasel feel tiny. Smaller rocks would have still been appropriate to accomplish what very large chunks of stone were doing before him. He looked around the area. The river was being diverted through a lush part of the nearby woods and re-draining downstream, filled with twigs and flora, and without enough force to dilute the earth and mud.

"It's an old country saying, but I think 'making haste slowly' would be more appropriate than just staring at the issue, don't you think?"

Oregano lay on his stomach on the bank above Will. The Sneasel was too shocked to catch his tongue to reply, and before he could the Cyndaquil waved over a few PokΓ©mon that he'd passed on his way, all eager to help.

William and Greg the Croagunk pounded away at the massive stones, breaking off small pieces. Oregano and Zoey the Eevee dragged rocks to be dispersed along the edges of the river bed where they wouldn't block the flow of the water. Vio the Mawile transitioned between using his massive maw to crush stones, and helping carry what Oregano and Zoey couldn't.

As they watched their progress, they realized one very crucial factor: Once the last of the rocks were clear, the river would come pouring over them. They puzzled over it. Quietly at first, and then, one by one, they contributed ideas. Even the shy Vio made a suggestion. Together, they prevented stagnation in a way that, alone, they never could have.

While throwing smaller rocks at the pile until it finally gave way would surely have been a quick path to progress, Oregano made one final suggestion that the group agreed upon readily. The water already trickling around and through the rocks could be frozen by the same touch that William used to make his Ice Shard knives. When frozen, the water would expand, breaking apart the remaining rocks--a technique the Sneasel could use from the bank of the river.

If asked, Oregano would have admitted that he had no idea if his idea would actually work. Luckily, no one had to ask anything. While far from perfect, freezing the stones broke up the remnants of the landslide quite efficiently, leaving the river only slightly more shallow, and about half a meter more narrow where the rocks once were.

Handshakes and brotherly embraces were exchanged among all present. Tired and with paws still cached with mud, despite attempts to wash them in the river, the group of guild members decided to head back toward Cathedral Drop before the sun set. William and Oregano stopped briefly by the water; they'd catch up with the others soon. They watched the river flow toward its unknown destination, from a source no one cared to question. Then they looked at each other, just once.
