I know right....I LOVE them!  I had a pet squirrel named Oliver back in the 2000's, that I rescued after falling from a tree in my backyard. He was only a few hours old. I had him for 3 years. He lived in my spare bathroom. I had 3 nice size limbs that I cut and put in there. I put a large cage in the bathtub (always left the door open) I put a ferret hammock inside and he would sleep in it. He was very tamed and I made sure I kept him on wild squirrel's schedule, so I never disturbed him after the sun went down beccause that's when they sleep. He was the neatest pet, but honestly, they shouldn't be pets. They really belong in the wild. They take a lot more to take care of than a dog or cat, but it was a wonderful experience. I learned so much about them and have a different respect for them. I'm quite partial to them now. Everytime I see a squirrel, which is everday, I call all of them "Oliver", lol. Thanks Sweet Lucy!!

PS...I also was able to liter box train him. I used ferret pellets as the liter.

That was a very sweet story, it made me smile, your such a kind
soul. I would have done the same, true they are not meant to be
pets, but when you rescue something wild, you grow attachment
to them. I know the feeling. Sounds like you gave him a good life.
Oliver is such a cute name. They certainly do need more care then
a cat or dog. Amazing and cute story Thank you for sharing
the story with me. So cute.
