Twilight (and Tru Blood, but we won't go there) has pretty much ruined vampires for me. Pretty much anything nowadays (except Underworld) that comes out with the label vampire attached to it I avoid like the plague, because it seems like everyone has had so much fun screwing up a perfectly good legend that it makes me sick.
So it's safe to say, I was not dazzled by Edward Cullen (and his last name sounds like colon...whut? I always said he was full of crap...).
