Description sha-bam!! i just made a plushie tutorial in paint ms....granted it's quite bloody awful and all, but yeah. you get the gist of it.....and it's so ghetto that you have to read the info about each photo here, cause i'm too damn fucking lazy to use font boxes and shit.

+pietro whore butt plushie steps!+

1. supplies!!
+pattern
+fleece (or felt) i prefer fleece because it's super soft and snuggley. and i technically use "alpine no-pill fleece". one side is smooth and one side is kinda furry like. i like to use the smooth side for the skin, furry for the hair.
+tacky glue
+scissors
+thread
+needles and pins and shit
+random scraps and junk for clothing/accessories

2. supersoft polyfill for stuffing the plushie.

optional shit!
+sewing machine, plastic teddy bear eyes.....

3. take your pattern and pin it to your fabric if using a sewing machine. (yeah yeah. it's not pinned in my photo. sue me.) OR, if you're sewing by hand, cut it out and trace onto your fabric. pin the right sides of your fabric together.
+MAKE SURE BOTH PIECES STRETCH IN THE SAME DIRECTION!! i've found the fleece stretches one way and that i like to use it with it as a horizontal stretch. makes the plushie fatter. if you choose for a vertical stretch, then your plushie becomes skinnier and taller when you stuff it.

4. (not pictured) sew along pattern starting to a side of the top of the head, down around the body and then stop on the other side of the head while still leaving an opening large enough to pull the plushie through.

5. .....that's you're now dead pattern. i use tracing paper and just sew over it on the sewing machine. la la la. this is a pointless step to show you.

6. (not pictured) once you finish sewing and pull off the pattern and all that dandy shit, trim off excess fabric and then turn it inside out. use something to push out the arms and feet but don't rip your seams or you'll be a very sad person.

7. stuff him full to your little heart's content. you can see the open hole in this picture. once he's stuffed to your liking, sew his head shut. i use a whip stitch and honestly, it looks pretty damn sloppy when i finish but as long as the seam line is fairly straight, it doesn't matter cause hair goes over it. so don't freak about having a perfect seam cause no one will ever see it again.

7b. (just thought about this) before you sew him shut, you need to poke small holes in the face and snap in his eyes if you are using the teddy bear eyes. it's also easier to put in any piercings before he's sewn up too. but these are both totally optional steps.

8. check it out! he doesn't look like a lopsided naked alien any more!!
+tacky glue and cut fleece to make the hair. i'm sure you could get all awesome on my patientless ass and sew the hair if you really wanted to.
+sew on belly button, nipples, and butt crack.
+continue to accessorize with whatever you want.

9. sew or even tacky glue on some clothes. this is a shot of me sewing some jeans. i just cut and sew as i go so that they fit right cause even though i use the same pattern for the body, each plushie turns out different from its stretch and how much it's stuffed, blah blah blah.

10. a few hours and needle pokes later, and you're done!! i tend to spend about 5 hours on each plushie, mostly on clothes and hair. oye.
and pietro is still naked. D: cause will suggested making a tutorial and i was so over sewing those jeans with my o.c.d. that i decided to do this instead. soooo be on the look out for pietro i guess.

-------:--------
hope this helped someone out. if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask, cause i just like regurgitated this ramble session on here and i wouldn't be surprised if i just confused the fuck out of people. i don't know how much more ghetto a tutorial can get honestly.

and i would have offered more photos, but i don't have a plushie in process for the one's i'm missing/i am so not going to start one just because.

but! if you use this, i guess let me see what you make.

back to sewing pietro's jeans to cover his butt. =3=

all this babble and pietro (c) me

HAH! no probs! the tutorial works! XD
YES! you bet! I'll have questions! in fact i have one right now >__<
err. how are you suppose to make a sphere for example, mochi, i'm a noobie so I can only do two dimensional plushies T~T

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

paintedmaru In reply to Nokimochi [2010-03-03 06:17:58 +0000 UTC]

mmmmm, i'd say similar to a beach ball, how it has sections to it. this is how i'd try to tackle a sphere, but i've never actually sewn a sphere before. just realized that....huh. but you might want to wander the internet a bit cause i could be totally off.

sorry. i just tinker about and wing it when i don't know how to do something. that's how i'd try to tackle it.

👍: 0 ⏩: 0

paintedmaru In reply to Nokimochi [2010-03-03 06:14:03 +0000 UTC]

a sphere....well, you could make it out of say 4 pieces (or as many as you want/need) like a beach ball, how it has sections. that's the only way i can think of right now. i actually haven't ever sewn a sphere. |D;;;
if i were tackling it, i'd do the sections and sew them together but you might want to look for another idea. i could be totally off and i just learn from tinkering about with the fabric and winging it each project.

sorry.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Nokimochi In reply to paintedmaru [2010-03-03 22:11:21 +0000 UTC]

HAH no actually I didn't even think about a beach ball, I think i'll try that next. Yeah i know what you mean...I wing it too. The results...some times good...sometimes...not so much *cough* But yeah, I'll look more and if I find something i share! teehee
so I did you're little munchkin dude, and my butt crack is now the belly button and the belly button is now the buttcrack XD tehe durrrr me X}

Wow This is amazing, I was thinking on sewing buttons on mine (if I make it somehow). Do you know how that's possible? It's Ok if you don't

And really nice tutorial I'd REALLY take your advice.

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

paintedmaru In reply to deryer [2009-09-02 00:43:39 +0000 UTC]

thanks. and sewing buttons where? assuming it's just something basic like using buttons for eyes and such, i'd sew the body, turn it, stuff it, and then mark where you want the buttons so that they would end up being even and in the right place, because things do change a bit when you stuff them. then just remove as much stuffing as needed and sew the buttons on, restuff and then sew the head shut.

i made a plushie and i did his head seperate from his body...it never occured to me to do his whole body then ad clothes later lol. i also glued his sunglasses on. how well does that work? i mean will it last forever as long as the plushie isnt all manhandled? lol or will it just fall off at some point?
oh and thanks for posting this, it rocks

paintedmaru In reply to a-m-b-e-r-w-o-l-f [2009-04-21 22:41:26 +0000 UTC]

depending on the glue, the glasses should most likely stay on for a long time. these glasses i just glued on with tacky glue [link] but since i don't still have him in my possession i can't tell you if they are still on his face or not. but, they were very securely on his face when i sent him out. you could always just take a couple really small stitches to tack the glasses onto the face. you could tuck the stitches under the hair perhaps.
and the only reason i make mine like two gingerbread men sewn together is because i just can't do the 3D pieces all pieced together and shit. i just struggle too much and i lack the patience for that stuff. so i made it so that i can make the plushie itself as simply and easily as possible.
i'll gladly try to answer any questions you have.
thanks! and you're welcome.

hmm, well im making an Albert wesker plushie, i had no intenton of making it all complicated and stuff so the ginger bread man look is perfect. i just finished his body, its all sewn up and adorable, now im working on the hair. its sewn up, i figured i would stitch the back and then just glue the rest since the front is the part that would really be seen. hes the only one i plan on putting glasses on and he will be in my possesion so im a little less worried about them falling off. my siblings want other characters and they should be a little easier. i def want to be able to make my plushies fast and easy. if i get good at it, i might try harder stuff but who knows. if i have anymore questions ill be sure to turn to you first! you should check out my plushie when im done, since your tutorial is what will have made him great! lol

i'm glad to hear that this is working for you. i just glue the hair to the plushies and i find that it holds up just fine. and for you, i think the glasses will be fine if you don't manhandle it. the glasses i linked to you were made out of acetate where i made goggles for another one that just sit in his hair out of stencil material and stitched down the outside corners of the frame.
and i would love to see your final plushie, so please link me. i've been told people have used my tutorial, but i haven't seen one yet.
