Male and female S. fatalis would've been about the same size, suggesting more evidence towards a familial pack structure similar to some canids. As seen in dholes and lycaons, S. fatalis males may of had more fur around their necks that form a neck beard and sideburns, which could've been used as a mating display.Related content
