M. asymmetrica is a species of Orb-weaver Spider that lived in Atlantis during the Late Paleocene. One of the defining characteristics of this spider is the asymmetrical patern of growth of his spikes, with individual variation being common.The name of the Spider means "Asymmetrical Medusa's Spider".
