Description: P. cryptus is an endemic herbivorous species of bird of the Maple-White Tepui. When first discovered by Prof. Challenger and his colleagues, it was tought that it was an small species of Phorusrhacid, also know as terror bird. They live in Barren Lands, Forests, Wetlands and Opens fields. It feed on plants, fruits, large seeds, small insects and even clay, like many Parrots species, to absorve the minerals. It live in groups of 5 to 10, even 20 in some cases. At night, they enter holes, caves and others safe places to sleep.
