Description
Sometimes people ask me: "How did you do that with the link?" or some other random HTML question. I try to answer using the code but it comes out weird because it's via comment and the code is already taking effect. Thus being ineffective. So I came up with this little piece to help teach some basics about HTML for deviantART and in general. It's a picture because Photoshop doesn't use HTML >w> I would've made this look nicer but I'm tired from today and ready to go to bed so I just added some random doodles.
Yes this is all correct because I do teach HTML in real life and I've learned it myself -.-
If you have any questions feel free to ask in the comments and I'll respond in the best way possible.
I may make another one to cover the PLZ accounts briefly and some other things dA has.
EDIT: I really do appreciate all the faves and downloads this has been getting! I never expected it to become so popular, I maybe expected like two or three faves from people I know in real life but of course there's no possible way I know every single person that has given this a fave! I have actually planned on making an updated version of this and the other two so it's a bit better? Not sure how to explain but it'll still be as simple as before! :3
In depth version. Where it can be used and how.

Well yeah, that's why i was asking if there IS a way to change font size in comments.

No, I don't think there is. It becomes tedious to read comments with size 6 fonts. Besides, header codes are usually used to title blog entries, pages, sections, etc and usually, header layout appearances need to be codded into the main website coding.
Try getting into website design on your own, it really helps with understanding HTML/CSS. It's really easy after you wrap your head around it, I've always learned on my own; if I can do it, a watermelon can do it.
You can "shrink" the font size by using < sub > or < sup > followed by the corresponding closing code (contains main code with /).

When in the chatroom you can paste a link in and just put parenthesis around itβ¦β¦ www.whatever(and then put what you would want to say in parenthesis here) instead of html code.

What about centering? I recently uploaded some text which was previously centered, but if there's an alternate way to do this on DA, I hadn't learned it.

Don't forget about < div align="center" >Center Text< /div >
It took me a while to figure out how to get around not using the center tag on DA. Though it is a bit outdated now.

It wasn't listed on there and this is just some basic stuff anyway. I might make one that's a little more advanced.
I'm also gonna put up links to sites that have tutorials on HTML.

I can't get the Paragraph and Font codes to work. Ex: I'm writing in my journal but the code won't "activate" so to speak. I must be making some kind of mistake? But I can't figure it out. I'd be greatful for some help π: 0 β©: 1
PandaProjectile In reply to Mimixum [2011-08-09 16:17:25 +0000 UTC]
Did you use the end tag?
Though it may not work in journals and comments it could be strictly for literary pieces. it's either that or for some unknown reason your computer doesn't have the font: Times New Roman.
For example: I have a ton of custom made fonts and I can use them in a piece I'm submitting for literature because my computer has that font. If I were to use another font my computer doesn't have the code won't recognize it and won't use it.
Hope that helped!

Yeah, I'm using the end tag and my cumputer has the fontstyle. Maybe it only works in litterature as you said, though I've only tried it in journals. Thanks for the help.
