I have long lost count of the number of stories shared with me by viewers of my twin Untamed portraits -- an outpouring of empathy and resonance that, for an artist, was as flattering as it was inspiring. Once thing many of these lovely viewers voiced in common was the hope of seeing the two characters painted *together,* for all their courage and suffering, and I could not humanly be more happy to oblige. My original title idea for this picture was "Fever Dream," from the scene in the cave. My mother wanted something more lyrical though, and came up with the name "Sing to Me," and so the title credit goes to her Honestly this was *such* a pleasure to paint, many dreamy hours with this piece I'll always remember fondly <3
