I did not know that in Spain they also refer to owls as "Lechuzas".

No problem, in Mexico & S. Texas owls are called "Tecolotes". It is an Aztec word. When I was in Spain, I was looking for a small owl figuring for one of my aunts & no one understood what I was trying to say. Finally pointed to one & they said, " that is a "Buho".
I always thought we spoke the SAME Spanish but I guess we do not as our Spanish is sprinkled with Aztec & Tex-Mex words.
In the Aztec/Mexican culture, Luchuza are witch familiars or witch's in owl form. The name originally came from one of the Aztec Goddesses.

I speak it but cannot write it. I know that sounds odd, but I am dyslexic & have problems with written words even in English.
