Description
YAY! Finally another project is done!
The Night of the Panzers.
Here we see 2 German Army (Deutsches Heer - Bundeswehr) Leopard 2A6 Kampfpanzer (Main Battle Tanks) moving in the deserts of [Insert random desert location], fighting against the armored divisions of the Middle East Coalition.
The two tanks have different color liveries. The main one is painted in the same desert camouflage as in real life german ground equipment that is currently being used (Partially) by the Bundeswehr in Afghanistan. Actually I have yet to see a L2A6 with such camouflage but if they were to be deployed by the german army I think they would paint some of them with such camo.
The other Leopard has the classic woodland camo paint that can be seen in most NATO vehicles.
The plan for this work was more complex. I actually had prepared to vectorize a Tornado IDS fighter and a Eurocopter Tiger UHT attack helicopter to add in the sky. Yup... I was planning to do a remake of one of my earlier pictures called "Feuer Frei!" ('Though this time without Dingo II vehicle nor infantry). But I decided that any air vehicles would have been too much for this picture so I just left the tanks.
Again... I wasted times on lots of details that were later blurred either by dark shadows... heavy lights or simply by the effect of motion.
I need to fix my way of coloring.
I originally used a series of brushes at first but after a lot of color editions and use of eraser and basic brushes they're totally or almost unnoticeable so.... I used them in vain ==;
Well if anyone can still notice them, I used 's sparkle brushes and I used somebody's moon brushes but since the moon was part of sky area I edited out when I decided to scarp the idea of helicopters and fighters I don't have to credit that user
Also... it's not easy to work on the colors, shadows and light effects in a night enviroment.
I've also made a Night Vision mode version of this picture which I will upload later in the week. 'Though I fear the NV one looks better than this one. So I'll upload this one and then later show the improved version.
I hope you like this. The next project to color is the ones of the german army infantry with a couple of OCs of mine
See'ya in the Battlefield!

HA! No me fiaria tanto de esos cochecitos "Made in China".
Lo unico que los panzers tienen que hacer es pasar por encima y aplastarlos.

Nice work and also I bet if we put the Abrams, Challenger and Leopard all in a fighting force they would be unstoppable as a full force. The Leopard is one tank that you have to also watch out for and is a wonderful piece of military work as well. Love the image.

The Abrams or the Challenger?
The answer is none! The German Leopard 2A6 is far superior!
lol, well I like to think that but if there any improvements over the Britsh and American tanks it's probably only marginal.

Excellent work!
I like the dust around the tank and the blur that makes it look like it's all in motion and happening really fast as the tank rolls through the desert.
The lighting is also amazing!

Well thank you. I'm glad you like it.
The bluring sure improves the sense of motion in the picture. The only problem is that it did take me a while to work the textures of the ground and then it all kinda got lost with the motion blur.

Id easily trust my life to a leopard. These German beasts can hit harder and further then an abrams and their crews are damn fine men. I highly admire the german and norwegian militaries.

Cheers. But you gotta give that so far only the Abrams and the Challenger 1 and 2 have had actual combat experience against other tanks. So far I know, the Leopard has not engaged against other tanks, only against insurgent positions during their use by Canadian forces in Afghanistan.

I do give tank on tank battle to the abrams dont get me wrong. But even though the leopard is still yet to fight a tank it really shows what its capable of since the abrams uses a licensed version of the leos gun.

True that. Ence the damage done to other tanks is roughly the same.

Yes the damage is roughly the same but another thing to consider is the tanks the abrams fought. The abrams fought outdated and heavily downgraded T-72s and very old T-62s and T-55s.
