Description
Requested byThe present helping the Past!
A modern day 101st Airborne soldier is helping his WW2 counterpart. The modern day soldier is armed with an M4 that is lacking any special attachements (And therefore can be confused with a M-16) and the WW2 soldier is equiped with the classic Thompson SMG.
How the allies won WW2 if Germany had the best weaponry (And still has)?
It's all really simple... the yanks opened the console server and activated god mode on and also added themselves tech level 60 years from then. Resulting in modern day soldiers helping their WW2 counterparts.
H44XORS!!!
Eine Frage fΓΌr Deutsche: Hatten wir einer Zeit Maschine... wurd hir fΓΌr den Dritten Reich kampfen oder wurdet hir nichts tun?
I used several brushes for this work.
Cloud, Dirt and Grunge brushes all from
Digital camouflage brush is from
I made this work awefully faster than I actually expected. But in this case I skipped a step in my newly developed coloring style which is vectoring the drawing itself.
I found a way to get a cleaner lineart by just working on colors of the original lineart. And trough a process of cutting to form new layers I got a good clean lineart in which I could work really easy without any problems.
I'll be using that tactic to cut time in some drawings but if I feel a project deserves a much cleaner lineart that what I jave achieved by hand then I'll vector it like I had been doing lately.
I'm happy with this work. I hope you also like it
Oh... but the day ain't over yet. Remember that secret deviation I worked on but haven't talked about what it was or when it's going to be uploaded? Well... expect to see it later today. It's is ready since three weeks ago but I'll be uploading it today as it's a birthday present for XXXXX (Surprise surprise).
Anyway... I'll be working on a lineart featuring the Type 10 MBT of the JGSDF and then I'll work on the colors of 's request. Which shouldn't be too had to do.
See'ya in the Battlefield!

So if we went back about 30 years or so earlier and killed Hitler how do you think WWII would have played out?
I interpreted it somewhere along the lines of this:
November 11th, 1918:
The Armistice is signed and Germany surrenders. Attempting to establish a new government, Adolf Hitler is executed as a result of treason.
September 1st, 1939:
With the Russians threatening to invade Germany, the Armistice is lifted, allowing Germany to build tanks, planes and warships once again. As Stalin's troops push ever further West toward the capital, the Allied Powers of Britain, France, and the U.S. are reluctant to support their once great enemy, but ultimately a decision is reached. Germany, already gaining support from Japan and Italy, desperately hold the line until reinforcements arrive to push the Soviets back.
After years of research, Germany invents the Tiger, a 50 ton steel beast capable of withstanding a considerable amount of punishment while still being able to dish it out. As Stalin's T34s and IS2 tanks continue to push further across German lines, their only hope of repelling them lies with the Luftwaffe. The Stukas and newly developed jet aircraft are immediately dispatched to defend Berlin against Stalin's invading forces.
The Soviets, still determined to fight to the last man, are quickly defeated as American French and British reinforcements arrive and capture over 200 Soviet troops.
Meanwhile, at the Kremlin, Stalin is furious. He has received a telegram from the Allies that they have developed a prototype nuclear weapons, and if he does not surrender in 24 hours, they will test it on Russia and execute his prisoners. He refused to do so, resulting in his senior staff hanging him in the streets. With the Premir dead, Stalin's successor agrees to surrender unconditionally.
Better 1947 and 1950:
With Germany, Japan, and the United States becoming the three greatest nuclear powers in the world, Russia desperately tries to develop their own nuclear weapons to gain revenge, but to no avail. Even though their weapons have the range to decimate entire cities, the U.S. and Germany helped their allied coalitions develop countermeasures to destroy nuclear warheads before they reach their target. With the situation hopeless for the USSR, they lay down their weapons and surrender.
September 11th, 2001:
As the U.S. struggles against the growing threat of radical Islam, Al Qaeda systematically hijacks three U.S. flights to cripple their infrastructure, first destroying the World Trade Center, then attacking the Pentagon. However, with their technological superiority they are able to kill their leader, Osama Bin Laden in a drone strike. But this was far from over. Even with the terrorists leader dead, the insurgents would still continue to fight, even though they can't win.
Present Day:
The conflict in the Middle East continues, but against a more dangerous terrorist organization known as the Islamic State Of Iraq And Syria or ISIS. However with their coalition allies, the U.S. is confident that they will one day defeat them.

And to think today's Germany can't wield nukes, obviously for good reason. They tried to develop nuclear/atomic weapons during the war, but then again: too little, too late

Weeeeell... technically we have nukes. And no we don't. The US has a nuclear sharing policy as part of NATO which allowssome NATO countries to deploy US nuclear warheads in case of war and with American authorization. Germany is part of this program.

What would be ironic is that the modern US guy could be holding one of his grandpas at gun point. :-P

You know that saying: Those who forget history are doomed to repeat it? This guy isn't about to repeat history he's just going to erase himself from it if he's in any way shape or form related to the guy he's holding at gunpoint. I suppose he can prevent that, so long as he doesn't kill him

Again, the mind churns...instead of a modern US infantryman helping out at Normandy, how much more philosophically deliciousΒ would it be to have modern Bundeswehr troops making the assist?
π: 0 β©: 1
Panzerfire In reply to Kelso323 [2013-11-02 01:11:51 +0000 UTC]
lol I wouldn't know.
Helping the nazis is probably unlikely but helping the allies wouldnt be a much better option either. After all, the allies made well sure that germany laid in ashes before the end of the war. I dont think modern BW soldiers want to take part in that.
π: 0 β©: 1
Kelso323 In reply to Panzerfire [2013-11-02 03:27:36 +0000 UTC]
Except that Bundeswehr troops could potentially be far more effective in convincing and assisting the Wermacht in turning against the Nazi regime thus preventing the greater destruction that occured in '44/'45, most especially the invasion and occupation by the Soviets and resulting division of the nation.
Plus, it's fun to envision the look on Rommel's face were he to see a modern Leopard 2..."Wir sind tief in der ScheiΓe!"
