Description
Cirrus clouds and the wavy rock formations at "White Pocket" ls a part of the"Vermilion Cliffs National Monument" on the Paria Plateau. It is a trying drive through deep sand but is well worth the effort.Related content

It also feels like an alien planet with all of the different textures underfoot!

It is in the same general area. We have been to both in the last six months... both are very impressive. The wave is easier to drive to but the walk is long, arduous and potentially dangerous... especially in summer. White Pocket is a long drive through sand ... but the walk is minimal with no chance of getting lost. I personally prefer White Pocket mostly because the photo-ops are myriad!

Nice contrasting patterns. Like the prickly pear in the lower right.
