Description
Broadtail hummingbird photographed last year at the Hummingbird Aviary in the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum near Tucson, Arizona. To be in an enclosure with so many hummingbirds was a one of the major highlights of our trip and we hope to return there soon.Related content

niiice shot Theo! What lens is this? Also were you using a tripod? Cause this sharp shot with a handheld 300mm lens at 1/99th of a sec shutter speed is fantastic!

Thank you... it was a lucky handheld shot!!! We just came back from Yellowstone [arrived about 30 minutes ago] where I rented a 50-500mm telephoto... haven't seen the photos yet but had to handhold in some wildlife encounters... I hope they come out 1/2 as well. Hope to see you out on the ice in a few months my friend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The ice is next on our list!!! By Bigma I assume you are referring to the lens which was an amazing piece of equipment that I wish I could afford to own... It was SWEET!!!!

Thanks... I had rented the Canon 100-400 the previous year and found the Sigma 50-500 to be easier to use... much better balance, easier to focus, good results hand held [even to 1/25 of a second on a few occasions], easier to carry [either lighter or better weight distribution?]... in any case I much prefer it to the Canon!!!
