Description
"Pick a card, any card"He said coyly with a smirk
I bit my tongue and smiled
His playing games was but a quirk
"I pick the 2 of truth"
"Alright, well, you have gorgeous eyes"
I blushed and looked away
This game sent me to new highs
"Umm, Jack of fact"
Smiling, he took my hand
Gave me a wink and said
"Your wish is my command"
Maybe a kiss
Even a hug
The thought gave my mind
The slightest tug
I felt light headed,
High as a kite
A newborn bird
Who had just taken flight
"9 of honesty"
"Darling, why?
You know I care,
You know I try"
"No. You know I trust you,
You know my secret.
Now 9 of honesty,
Prove you'll keep it"
"Fine," he breathed, bothered
"And how can that be proven?"
"I don't know…"
He sat, not moving
I smile to interrupt the silence
"Tell me now or you'll never know"
I pondered this then said
"Kiss me in the white of snow.
Hold me without a care,
Kiss me in the dark of night,
Care for me without a care,
Dress in silver, be my knight."
"Of course, of course" you nod your head
And pulled his hand away
I stare through the eyes he once called gorgeous
Neither had a word to say
Trying to be playful
I moved to see his cards
But when he flinched away
All my walls shot up like guards
The silence slithered back
My heart made a quick, unpleasant sound
"I'll be right back, I promise"
As his lighter fell to the ground
"I win I guess" he whispered
And those words caused the worst affliction
No Jack, no 9 of honesty; straight Aces
Of lies, deception, myth, and fiction

I don't always know exactly what you are talking about, but this one was another interesting way to look at the things people will tell you. I liked your poem called "Sins of Nature" and this poem reminded me of that, by comparing lies and a handful of cards, play em' right and you get what you want, right?
For those of you who read this poem and like it, read her other one "Sins of Nature" at ~ [link] ~
