You see that glass?
It's a case of perception
So in my opinion;
Optimism's the deception

Pessimism
A cynic's beauty
A renaissance painting
And ode to deaths duty

Beauty being
In the eye of the beholder
A sightless expression
That seems to smolder

The visual canvas
Tainted with paint
With toxic fumes proving
That art is no saint

Mind half empty
Logic half full
My red sweater a cape
To societies charging bull

A blood sport they say
For entertainment and joy
Beast or man dies
To please an audience so coy

Arena of dust and stone
Crowded with the sadistic
Too engaged for horse races
Are the sociopathic and narcissistic

Those devoted to their mirrors
Standing on a mountain high
Those who can't live without themselves
Won't bid the world goodbye

Glass half empty forever and always
Not enough water to share
Not even empathy given
Absolutely no reason to care

Suddenly there's not a drop;
Sad glass sits drained
Dejected eyes peered up
