Description Don't judge me by the sins
That you have long committed
I don't believe in God
So I can't be acquitted

Don't consider me as faithful
When bitter words do scorn
We both would sleep 100 years
And prick our skin upon a thorn

This is not my trial
You are not my fate
I long for six feet under
A funeral I await

You can't bother me for caring
For everyone but I
Many have come to realize
That one-day they will die

Don't paint yourself as innocent
I'm not one of these naΓ―ve
My eyes have seen a thousand lies
And they're not easy to deceive

You can't just expect me
To take my own advice
I'd sooner burn in hell
Once, twice, thrice

How dare you say you're sorry
And expect my consolation
I formally welcome whom I trust
You've received no such invitation

It's pitiful that you blame me
For all decisions made
Popping pills like candy
Or falling upon a blade

Not only I have scars
Don't go tugging on your sleeve
But no one cares to do that
When fingers point to leave

Well look straight in the mirror
Right into your soul
And now enlighten me
Is it full of burnt out coal?

When almighty hell froze over
Did you keep some flames inside?
Which simply had burned out
Over the years that childhood died

If you're asking for forgiveness
I am nothing if not kind
Therefore I am nothing
And to no one am I inclined

I shall to choose to bite my tongue
Whenever I see fit
I shall burn by match's flames
But only ones I've lit

There always seems to be a line
Of which the ignorant are blind
They don't read the contract
That with devil's pen they signed

Who knows what they've given up
Which soul they sold and lost
Whether they had one to give
And for what they paid this cost

My face is no reflection
Of every right you've wronged
This isn't time to make amends
Your sentence is prolonged

Hypocrite always comes to mind
But that's the world we live in
Where each movement is a gamble
And that's the roulette we spin

So who cares if yesterday
Happened to be the day I died
The day we're born
Is but a sluggish suicide

I noticed three possible typos:

"Swinging pills like candy" - SWIGING pills like candy, or taking, or popping

"Is it full of burn out coal?" - full of BURNT out coal?

"I shall burn by match's blames
But only ones I've lit"
- did you mean to use the word "blames" if so, why? I would have expected the word "flames".

You final two lines caught my eye.
"The day we're born
Is but a sluggish suicide"

I agree that life is a road that leads to death, but I disagree that it is a road that leads to "suicide", a purposeful removal of one's own life. Granted, some people have it tougher than others but many people are able to find hope and purpose. I applaud people who can find their place in this world and make it a better place for themselves AND others. Pardon my philosophical rabbit trails.

Anyway, I wish you the best. And I feel compelled to remind that that you are without a doubt a very talented writer.

XD

I just found a typo in my own response, we all could use a dedicated editor couldn't we?

haha yeah, swiging isn't a word XD and i definitely meant flames not blames :$

and i enjoyed reading your philosophical rabbit trails but what i was going for is that our actions can lead to a sooner death, for example being alcoholic isn't considered committing suicide but if that person doesn't get the help/steps required to get better it's exactly what they're doing; intentionally or not.

And I'm very glad you liked this poem as well (:

Yea, I know what you mean about unhealthy choices. Then again... at my current workplace I'm exposed to toxic chemicals, loud noises, and the daily possibility of being physically scarred by power tools.

Isn't construction nifty?

I'd LOVE to get out but I can't find another job anywhere, and I'd rather be employed than not.

I'm not trying to hasten my death, but I fear that might be what this job is doing to me >.<
