with fimo you can use water, it ends up very sticky but it works. It doesn't work with sculpey though.

(smiles) One can also use PearlEx powders or oil paints to color TLS, and yes, I've tried and used both.

great tutorial,, but I still have a question (because I think I don't understund enough, I'm german you know ^^): is TLS the same thing than liquid fimo? Because I'm looking for something similar in Germany and we only have "liqud fimo"..
thank you <3

uh???....... how long do you bake the TLS?
i know it probably says it on the bottle...but i dont have it yet and i was just wondering.
and where can you buy it?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

paperfaceparade In reply to cullen-crazy [2010-01-09 22:20:20 +0000 UTC]

the same as the clay. about 275 degrees fahrenheit for 15min or so. but i don't usually bake any clay or TLS above 225 fahrenheit, and it bakes just fine.

cullen-crazy In reply to paperfaceparade [2010-01-11 01:53:39 +0000 UTC]

oh ok thank you!!
where can you buy it at?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

paperfaceparade In reply to cullen-crazy [2010-01-12 19:56:11 +0000 UTC]

you should be able to find it at any craft store that sells polymer clay. if you live in the US, try joann's and michael's. i don't know about outside of the US. you might be able to find it somehwere online.

so when using liquid sculpey, how do you transfer it onto the pancake? Cause you made the liquid sculpey not even in a container so its confusing me

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

paperfaceparade In reply to kittykatklub1 [2009-10-12 03:17:37 +0000 UTC]

haha, i sort of pick up as much of it as i can with a toothpick (usually a drop or two will stick to the toothpick, and that's usually enough for a pancake) and then let it drip on the pancake, then kind of smear it around with the toothpick.

oooo coool
Ughh see the thing is that if i buy a 2 oz tube thingy of liquid sculpey, itll cost like 5 bucks and i think it might finish quickly and stuff so im scared to buy ittt

paperfaceparade In reply to kittykatklub1 [2009-10-16 06:39:57 +0000 UTC]

nahh, it lasts a pretty long time. and be glad only costs 5 bucks! it costs 8 around here. lol

hey, do you know if it is okay to mix different brands, like tls with fimo (or cernit, with is my favorite brand) I assume it's okay but you never know, never used any liquids yet but want to start - thanks for answer. and thanks for the great turorials!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

paperfaceparade In reply to cockfighter [2009-09-10 19:11:54 +0000 UTC]

the only brands i've worked with are fimo and sculpey, and they seem to work just fine together, whether i'm mixing regular clay together for different colors, or mixing liquid sculpey with fimo clay, etc. as long as it's the same type of clay, i don't think it matters which brand.

Heyyy lovely tutorial. The only thing is, it's a macaron, not a macaroon. A macaroon is another dessert made out of coconut and egg and looks like a cookie! [link]

And it looks like a hamburger coz the top is too round, maybe if you just pressed the top down a little to make it flatter it would look just like a macaron! 8)

paperfaceparade In reply to LouisDelacroix [2009-09-06 18:28:29 +0000 UTC]

Ooohh. In that case, I've had macaroons before. lol. Just not a "macaron". I wasn't kidding about never having seen one either. I just googled pictures and tried to make it look like one of the pics. lol. Thanks.

Thanks, it's really useful yay pink cheeseburger !
I bought the liquid fimo because the store didn't have the TLS so I was kind of scared it would not be the same effect but since you said it only have 1 difference with each other...^^
Sorry for my english xD

Can I use school glue for tls?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

paperfaceparade In reply to StrawberrieShortCake [2009-05-30 18:44:38 +0000 UTC]

No. Well, if you're gluing pieces together than you can use regular glue and let it dry, but if you're using it for effect, then no. You have to bake tls for it to harden, and i don't think you can bake school glue.

noche-estrellada In reply to ??? [2009-05-29 09:18:20 +0000 UTC]

Is liquid FIMO easier to clean with rubbing alcohol than TLS? It's a nightmare to clean liquid FIMO out of a piping tube with just tissues D:

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

paperfaceparade In reply to noche-estrellada [2009-07-13 18:42:32 +0000 UTC]

they're both easier to clean with rubbing alcohol. i've found that either soaking a dishrag or a sturdy paper towel with rubbing alcohol usually works for getting it all off, but i don't know about a piping tube. i've never used tls with a piping tube, so i can only imagine the mess. lol. use an old toothbrush maybe?

i dont know what a macaroon is, lol, but it looked DELICIOUS!! that was really cool, just one question, can i use a brush to apply the TLS to the charm? thanks xD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

paperfaceparade In reply to origanime-muckle [2009-05-18 05:47:33 +0000 UTC]

uhmm.. i wouldn't. it'd be hard to get the tls out of the brush. a toothpick usually works just fine for me.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

origanime-muckle In reply to paperfaceparade [2009-05-18 14:45:50 +0000 UTC]

oh right. thanks. i tried a toothpick, but it still as bad, i just have to face that
martin + TLS = fail. oh well, im sure if a practise enough i might get better.
