If capitalism actually worked how we're told it works (free market) then it really wouldn't be a problem. The sad reality is, how we're told it works is merely virtue signaling. Kind of like how we're told deviantART Eclipse works is merely virtue signaling while the experiential reality of Eclipse is a total dumpsterfire.
Kind of like how most people these days virtue signal American values, but America and most Americans don't really uphold those values. The values that are upheld are more like a really subtle and polite form of tyranny. I think George Orwell best describes what America has turned into:
WAR IS PEACE
SLAVERY IS FREEDOM
IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH
Don't get me wrong, America is the most free country in the world. And that, is scary -- considering how far America has fallen and continues to plummet further.

Capitalism could be good, too much good lead to it's destruction. it is only system leads to economic failure like in 2008, maybe another failure in the future (i could be wrong).
American isn't a free country,Β Libya is only free under Gaddafi control. Sad hes gone and everything is in ruin.Β

I didn't say America is a free country, I said it is the most free relative to all of the others. Freedom can be measured in degrees, like heat or cold.
No amount of addition leads to subtraction, and no amount of multiplication leads to division -- simple math. Similarly, no amount of actual good can lead to the destruction of anything. Too much good is not why capitalism is eating itself. In fact, the reason why capitalism is eating it self is too simple for most people's minds to want to comprehend, because most people are in a a stockholm syndrome state of learned helplessness. Addicted to feeling like victims. They've based their entire identity around it.
Prior to 1913, people knew the difference between "debt-based economics" and "equity-based economics". These days, most people are clueless as to the difference, even the so-called "woke" folks. In modern terms, debt-based economics (the system we currently have) is a ponzi-scheme. Our collective failure to realize this is the only thing that has made capitalism a long-term failure while being a success in the short-term.Β
The Federal Reserve Bank (and also by extension, the IMF) is a privately owned corporation. No government has power over them and they operate with absolute impunity. They are as Federal as Federal Express.
In an equity-based system, currency (which is nothing more than a receipt / promisary note) is backed by hard assets. Things which have intrinsic value. In a debt-based system, currency is fiat. The word fiat roughly translates to "so be it". It is created out of thin air, AS debt, AT debt -- and is backed by absolutely nothing.
Gaddafi knew all of this, by the way.
So anyways -- under a fiat ponzi scheme system, because money is created AT debt, AS debt -- they money to pay the debt interest is never created. It can't be created. It does not exist, and it never will. This unpayable debt is called "the national debt".
This, over a very long period of time, allows for hard asset wealth to be transferred out of the hands of the people into the hands of a 1% elite ruling class. It is a brilliant scheme, I'll give the devil his due. When you can trick the entire world into trading hard asset value for worthless paper, that is a pretty brilliant scam.
Another counterpart to this scam, is property taxes. No one should be forced to "pay to be alive". These days, when people hear that sort of thing, they automatically think that the only way to accomplish this is by means of a Communist nanny state. This is yet another lie.
Property taxes is a scam which allows a persons property to be stolen from them. Without this scam, a family or an individual person could be self sufficient and thus would not need any assistance from a nanny state. They'd have a refuge in hard times. Be able to grow their own food and raise their own animals. And with 21st Century technology these days -- even generate their own electricity.
If the scams mentioned above did not exist, then money would be nothing more than a universal medium of exchange. That is all it is supposed to be.
Cryptocurrency simultaneously provides our greatest economic hope and greatest economic threat in equal measure.
SMT crypto, is equity based. It is backed by literally the most valuable asset this world has: humanity itself.
Main Stream crypto, is backed by the existing fiat system and is controlled by the same banking institutions which control fiat.

I would at least like some honesty from the staff. If they were honest, their journals about Eclipse would read more like this:
"We're doing what we want, we don't care if you don't like it. If you feel so strongly against it, then leave the fucking site. We don't give a fuck".

It won't run on an Abacus, either. But Geek Squad is quite confident that it should run on a Commodore 64.

Thats how they're able to move to an adless system. They have big corporate sponsors now. Seeing as more money is rolling in from them, they really have no reason to give a fuck who pays for core or not. What they do not realize is, if they piss off enough of us into leaving -- this site will die and their corporate sponsors will have no reason to remain on board with them. The staff just doesn't get it.

There's a myth in Corporate Culture that some companies become "Too Big To Fail"... despite all the examples that prove the idea wrong and all the financial complications of believing this to be possible.Β The thing is, the aspects of a company that created its success are almost always the first things to be discarded once it gets successful enough...

True, but I don't think this is happening because of Too Big To Fail thinking. There is another type of thinking that is even more common. You might call it "take the money and run" and it happens outside of the digital realms as well.Β
You have huge super wealthy people that spot successful businesses, and purchase them.
Then they bleed the company for everything it has until it dies.
All of the assets of the company are liquidated on a fire sale for even more profits.
Then they move onto the next business.
Think of it as being the human equivalent of a plague of locusts.Β
Too Big To Fail companies are backed by government subsidies. Without this, companies such as Google, Facebook and Twitter would have crashed and burned a long time ago. The only thing that can kill a Too Big To Fail company, is if most people stop using it and the company becomes irrelevant.

I've actually seen this happen with GaiaOnline. It's still recovering after the original owner purchased it back after seeing it being run into the ground like it was. The one who did it, whom we called "Goldemort" or "He Who Shall Not Be Named" due to his greedy ways and him insta banning anyone that mentioned his name at all basically gave the site back to the original owner, who has been working with the old devs to basically fix everything he screwed up. It's still recovering, but it's much better than it was before.Β

I can imagine something similar happening with deviantART. It'll get sold on a fire sale and then hopefully the next owner will learn from all the past mistakes (as well as fire all of the apathetic cunts who contributed to the mess).

Thankfully, not so much like YouTube. If it was like YouTube, then we'd all be banned for hate speech for complaining about Eclipse.
