If anything the people who try to control us are the companies who make these damn things. Google and Apple have become the new Standard Oil in our society and need to be broken like the menopoly they are.

Just use a Flip Video Cam or something similar. Not wifi connected. So not able to be remotely compromised.

Oh, they're already controlling and banning those. Those in power have the power to restrict the flow of information.

George W. Bush, Tony Blair, Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld shall be given Nuremburg trail in international court. The Obama administration be next by 2017.
Bradley Manning be a free man plus jury, and so will Jermy Hammond.
If the UN get's a alternitive political faction like the Spartans did to the Athenians.

They can feel free to waste their time doing so. When Obama said "lets ban guns!" everyone went out and bought more guns. If Obama says "lets ban cameras" what do you imagine is going to happen? lol

And for every innocent person they fuck with and abuse -- 10 million more people who previously had no interest in filming police activity, suddenly become pro-active.

What're being thrown around right now I can best classify as a two edged sword. Have you heard of the news with Google Glass?

No, I've not. Whats the news?

Facilities are banning Google Glass and its apps due to facial recognition and privacy issues. Congress is actually agreeing with the Constitution this time, what a shocker. The reason I brought this up was because of the facial recognition and that no one knows when you're recording, this would be an easy way for us to capture the establishment's crimes and stupidity, such as out of control police. However, this is also a good spying device for them as well, so that's why Google Glass is a two edged sword that can help us or hurt us.

paradigm-shifting In reply to anoncru [2013-06-06 19:13:50 +0000 UTC]

We are like 6 year olds and Google Glass is like a car. We're not ready to drive that one yet.

If people want to record more corruption, they'll need to take response ability and put security cameras into their homes and businesses as well as carry portable digital cams and things like that. We're not anymore ready for Weapons of Mass Surveillance than our Governments are. lol

So this needs to be done via grass roots for now.

What would really be good is if those sorts of cams could be streaming out to web cam feeds, then things such as screencast-o-matic can be used to capture the feed if a viewer happens to notice that something shady is starting to happen.

anoncru In reply to paradigm-shifting [2013-06-06 22:32:50 +0000 UTC]

That's more reason why something like Google Glass is a two edged sword. I think certain smart phones have a live streaming function that can do as you said.

there is also something out there called Golden I as well
the implications for this type of tech, can go in both directions,
the troubling aspect of course is the abusive part.

I think Google Glass is having competitors such as Apples' iGlass, which we hope will be one of the biggest flops as well. However I don't see why we could turn this against the system.

In some circumstances such devices could be very helpful, The medical field for instance is one, such a thing would be very beneficial.
Remote areas where a specialist are hard to come by would benefit, giving assistance remotely to someone performing surgery.
as for competition, better to have that I guess then a monopoly

anoncru In reply to SiteLine6 [2013-06-05 10:48:11 +0000 UTC]

The reason I would say to turn the glasses systems on the establishment would be to expose hypocrisy. If they can use it on us, why not the other way around?

SiteLine6 In reply to anoncru [2013-06-05 19:37:19 +0000 UTC]

oh indeed, I have no problem with that
the only thing is, we are losing all aspects of Privacy

anoncru In reply to SiteLine6 [2013-06-05 23:24:52 +0000 UTC]

So that's why it's better we get rid of that double edged sword, because there are enough people who wouldn't wake up no matter what we do.
