Impressive how you already know how to use the Pen Tool
That is quite an advance tool >:3
But anyway, The Lightning I used was already Background-less
I think they call it render?
Try searching a picture with render in it
"Lightning Render" Google Image Search is what I did

But anyway, I know 3 more ways of how to remove the background of the image.
1. The Polygonal Lasso Tool - perhaps the easiest tool to make an accurate and straight selection
(Located below the Marquee Tool/ 3rd Tool)
2. Eraser Tool - also one of the easiest, just erase the background using this tool. you can adjust the size using "[" and "]"
3. Magic Wand/ Magic Eraser - if the background is just a color, like all White or all Red
click the background to erase it.

I learned how to use the Pen Tool in Paint Shop Pro It is basically the same idea in Photoshop.

There's a background eraser? Cool!! *off to check that shit out*
