放浪忍者I was bored so I created this character. I tried to mimic the style of *Inkthinker
The kanji says 'Wandering Ninja' (hourou ninja). I tried to make him look like the vagrant type. My friend actually thought this was done digitally, so I'm quite happy with that! I just used a regular old pen, nothing flash.

Not bad, most of the piece is pretty decent, But the left are (one closest to the viewer) is really really awkward. The bicep is the shoulder in this piece and I'm pretty sure that it is not natural.

lines are my specialty. When it comes to colour and painting everything gets a bit worse

i did forget to mention the glove and ninja star. id love to see another of him with a bit of a darker perspective (Everyone has a dark side huh? haha) with that ninja star around his neck with no shirt haha. sorry, i can just picture that right now

this perspective really works for this piece. its a very strong stance, and the detail is nice. goes to show that line art can be very effective. i think forward facing head would be a lot more aggressive. as it is, on the side looking up, it seems a lot less dominant than it could. though that is not a negative with the work, it just depends on how you want him expressed.
his pants are a bit confusing, you might want to look at defining the crotch and leg area a bit more as at the moment it looks a little like the left side (his right leg) is much smaller than the other.
weapons are great and i love the jagged edge of his sleeve. to be honest i think his cut-off jacket is the best part of this whole piece.
i'm a little confused with the face piece. is he wearing a transparent cover? it looks a bit feminine, though i'm not really sure what you're doing there so i might be reading into it wrong.
all in all this is an amazing piece, you've done so well. is this a WIP or is it finished? cos it certainly looks much more advanced than a wip. i'd love to see any changes you make so let me know if you do fix anything up. xoxo

The pants are hakama pants, which are extremely baggy. Trust me I've worn a pair (usually worn over gi pants). His left leg is overlapping his right because he is standing on a slight angle, therefore it appears slightly smaller than if he were standing face on.
I avtually had a few problems with the shoulder/sleeve area but I fixed it up digitally.
He's wearing kind of a half face mask which would be opaque. I just haven't inked it in because I was thinking it would look good with some kind of texture when cloloured (which I think answers your next question).

well i definitely cant see the problems with the sleeve, it looks amazing.
i think in that case you need to work on the face mask a bit more... to me at the moment it looks like one of those indian face covers or something haha :S

Thanks. About the mask; I didn't want him to have the full hooded thing going on so I just included the lower half. It'll hopefully be much clearer when coloured
