Description
Well I chose the match-ups as they filled in the same roles in their respective universes.Captain Universe & Firestrom are chosen and created from a cosmic power, the Uni-force and Firestorm Matrix.
Silver Surfer & Superman Blue are both aliens from homeworlds they lost and have energy based powers though came to be in quite opposite ways.
Spider-Man & Nightwing as they are both high-swingin' crimefighters with combat skills taught from some of the greatest heroes.
Doctor Strange & Doctor Fate, well that's an obvious one.
Black Cat & Catwoman, also obvious.
Ghost Rider and Lord Marvel as they play opposite roles, the demon cursed man and the gods blessed boy. Both tryin' to be heroes in a big world with what fate has delt them.
Magneto & Ra's Al Ghul as both have tried to radicly change their worlds on narrow points of view from long tiring lives that have made them cold.
The Whizzer & the Flash since these two are the golden-age speedsters in their respective universes.
X-23 & Superboy because they're clones of great heroes and have attitudes that represent extremes of teenagers, agressive emo and cocky awkwardness. Also their powers are altered from their parents somewhat
So who do you think will win in each match?

For me I see it as:
Captain Universe defeats Firestorm
Superman defeats Silver Surfer
Spider-Man defeats Nightwing
Doctor Fate defeats Doctor Strange
Catwoman defeats Black Cat
Superboy defeats X-23
Magneto defeats Ra's Al Ghul
Lord/Captain Marvel defeats Ghost Rider
And
Flash defeats Whizzer.
Overall, DC wins.

I did debate with myself for awhile about the Surfer/Superman fight. Seemingly, Superman was never portrayed or shown to be as powerful as he could/should have been considering his power-type. Since he was an energy being, he was shown to be to absorb energy to power himself quite like how he absorbed solar energy before. If that's the case, he'd basically be able to absorb whatever Surfer had to dish out whether it be cosmic energy blasts or physical attacks.
Same with Fate vs Strange. Strange is considered the Sorcerer Supreme but Fate/Nabu is basically a magic god in a helmet. There's no chance of forgetting spells and no special clothing or amulets to enable certain abilities like Stange...aside the helmet itself of course.

Oh, though an interestin' note about Blue's energy absorbin' power is that he can't absorb magical based energies. So the Surfers Power Cosmic may be incapatible for Blue, I've yet to get an exact definition as to what energy category it falls into.

I don't think the Power Cosmic is magic. It's always been very grounded in science. Plus Red Hulk could absorb it when he fought the Surfer but also can't absorb magic.

That's true of Superman, but I'm not entirerly sure if the Surfer wouldn't be able to absorb energy as well, in his short lived cartoon he absorb the energy from stars as a way of substanance. And actually Fate uses an amulet as well as his helemt. Though you are correct, do to the Hlemet of Fate possesin' it's host for the forces of order Fate is well versed and doesn't easily make mistakes in his spells, though like all characters he is prone to losin' sight because of his duties. Strange on thte other hand uses like two or three objects to enhance his on mystic abilities. So now that i think about it with this chat of ours if Strange simply removed Fates helmet he'd most likely be at Stranges mercy. But as for the Surfer and Blue I'd put it at a tie.

Is that so? I never knew that about Surfer. He doesn't need sustenance in the comics, he just looks for it for Galactus.
I'm not 100% but I'm pretty sure there something about only Fate can remove his helmet.

Well it's not so much as for sustenance as it is for recharging himself, his power is the power cosmic but for some reason he still absorbs energy, it's even one of his powers. As for Fate, all I know is that the host generally can't remove the helmet themself.

LOLS Well Superman Blue has a different power set than the regular Man of Steel. And that's the original Flash, he's not as fast as Barry Allen.
And They're both DC, not Marvel.
