So here's another browser character/icon! This time it's Torch, a web browser built off Chromium source code. It looks and works a lot like Chrome, really (even supports Chrome extensions), though apparently offers more inbuilt features (like Bittorrent support) and a stronger focus on social media and sharing.I love how this character came together. She's adorable!
Now she needs a name... I had a list of ideas:Aurora
Blaze
Firefly
Candela
Ember
Lumin
Pyree
Sparka
Crossfire
Incendia
I think I'm possibly leaning towards Ember, Firefly or Candela? I don't know, anyone else have any ideas? EDIT: Ok, leaning towards Candela thanks to all the good reasoning in the comments!

The Torch logo was hard to draw. There aren't many (any?) high-res references to get the dimensions right. I wasn't about to repeat the drama with the Safari logo trying to draw the map out in the 'globe' (torture) so I used a creative-commons vector of the continents which was such a perfect match that I'm wondering if Torch logo's graphic designer didn't do the exact same thing.

I'd vote for candela. It's different enough from Firefox so it wouldn't be confusing, plus you can then make light jokes, since candela is a measure of luminous intensity.

What about operating system ponies? Like Windows, Linux or Snow Leopard?
Maybe even computer brands? Alienware, dell, Toshiba, Apple? Anything like that?
Famous game icons? Or even a computer that transforms into a pony!
Of course these are only suggestions. You don't actually need to do any of them at all. I just hope you do. Have fun playing around with any of these ideas if you want to.

Crossfire seems REALLY fitting, seeing as how it's almost like a cross of something original and Chrome.
By the way, I LOVE her design. ^^ Flawless transition from symbols to her mane.

Looks very much like Chrome. Extra buttons allow you to share stuff (snore), download Torrents within the browser (groovy) and also harvest video streams on the page you're viewing. And yes, for the curious, that seems to work on YouTube.

A friendly chap linked me to one of those threads (#10 I think) which was fun to go through! But other than that, I haven't really seen what happens over there with these characters. I'm purposely avoiding any stories, I have my own to do with these comics and would prefer not to be influenced or anything!

Yeah, I find it kind of hilarious myself. You posted the Torch pony right after the community on 4chan started making Torch ponies as well. There is now a big fanbase for the Torch pony and they are comparing their Torch ponies to yours. Oh btw I just signed up to beta test the new Torch right before you posted this as well. I like the dark-coated design too! I read a bit into it, as I understand it they've actually used that design in one or more popular fics already. Of course I can't read the flippin' things for the aforementioned reasons... but nice to see other browsers are getting attention!
