Superb colours.

If u had done an HDR of this it would have looked unbelievable (its on my "to-do" list )

how on earh do you do an hdr....was it you that downloaded it ?

Andy-Stewart In reply to parallel-pam [2006-11-22 13:54:49 +0000 UTC]

oh boy HDR ..... now there;s a good question....

In a nutshell:

- Camera on Tripod with remote switch (to cut down vibration or camera movement)
- Take a picture as normal (taking note of aperture and exposure time)
- take up to 3 pictures with faster shutter speed, and same aperture (will look darker)
- take up to 3 pictures with slower shutter speed, and same aperture (will look brighter, almost blown)
- Use PhotoShop CS2 and use the Merge to HDR function.

What it does is merge all the photo's together to give the High Dynamic Range output.

Simple in theory, but i've yet to get a decent example in practice....

thanks...I unfortunately dont have photoshop CS2..only elements...but I am planning to start taking my photos in RAW foramt instead of jpegs to try and improve the quality- one loses so much in taking jpegs..

powerful title and a photo full of atmosphere, lovely loose symmetry

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

parallel-pam In reply to von-balthazar [2006-11-19 13:36:15 +0000 UTC]

thanks Chris..this was a really tricky shot- there were acutally three windows in the arc of the chapel, but I decided to submit the one with only two windows..the shape and symmetry worked better ...it was quite inspiring...

I don't know if you've played Legacy of Kain: Defiance, but the photo is just like from that game - now I know what was their model

parallel-pam In reply to SeaWhisper [2006-11-19 13:35:09 +0000 UTC]

thanks..no, I have not watched it..but I am glad my photo can be equated with one used in a commercial sense ....

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SeaWhisper In reply to parallel-pam [2006-11-19 13:48:35 +0000 UTC]

hehe it's not a commercial sense just as it is, Legacy of Kain is something much more, and it's not like I'm in love with this game, well you need to try it to understand it
