Description The first in a series of four deviations on European Street Scenes.

FULLVIEW is required to get the full "meaning" of the title. There is a sign in this empty street saying something that looks like the English word "tactile". I found this an interesting paradox as the street was devoid and untouched by people even though it was in a very busy part of the old city of Geneva.

I actually live in Geneva, and this picture of the Old Town really shows why I love this part of the city.

There's not much people there depending on the street you choose to explore and there's always something you haven't noticed the last time you went there.

Anyway, this picture & this city will always stay "untouched" in my heart. Et pourtant je suis trรจs tactile comme mec ! ^^

Hi parallel-pam,

I'm an animation student, current working on my Final Year Project. I came across your picture and would like to use it as a background in my animation. I will be doing some changes and tracing it into a line art, and finally colouring it.

May I have your permission to use this image?

That this street is deserted is just soooo cool. Strange, but cool. I would just had to have gone down the street and see what was there, where it went. . .totally act like a tourist...lol. Great capture.

Yes, looks very desolate, but that adds to the charm of the picture and your paradox.

Yeah, the moment I saw the thumbnail, what struck me was how empty the street is. Superb shot.

i don't really get the "untouched" part of this photo... but the streets looks really old & classic, just like in the movies i wish i could go travel to europe someday

parallel-pam In reply to nicholsy [2007-05-24 15:55:08 +0000 UTC]

untouched because they are clinically empty of people and it is a contradiction with the sign which says "tactile" an English word for the sense of touch ..thanks

Absolutely beautiful. =]

I love the monochromatic color scheme, except for the sign that happens to say tectiles. xP

I'm not too sure on the concept on it, but that may just be because I'm not quite sure about the definition of "tactile".

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

parallel-pam In reply to patternsinstaticxx [2007-05-24 15:56:05 +0000 UTC]

tactile refers to the one of the five senses i.e. "touch"

It's a very un-Swiss street. It looks far too slept-in and comfy for Switzerland.
