I've been doing Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 (it's a small game file-size wise). I'm trying to get back to the point where I was before the fire (lost the files, I was really close to completing it too ). I also picked up a replacement copy of Sim City 4, but since I had the expansion pack for it too, I just picked up the Sim City pack which got me Sim City "5" too (I haven't heard any spectacular reviews of it, so I'm expecting something on the level of City Life, but eh). I also play Simutrans (totally and completely freeware game, I can send you the necessary links if you'd like to try it out), that's a game like Sim City except you control *all* the transport of goods across your city, mail, meat, people, etc, it was made (and continues to be updated, they released a new version in February) as part of a large freeware learning project, so they don't charge for anything, which is pretty sweet considering the amount of work they've put into it . I also more-or-less finished Red Alert 3, it became pretty obvious their intended audience was 15 year old boys, but whatever, it had moderately nice graphics and the control were easy to use .

I don't know about strategy, tell me which games you're interested in and I'll tell you how I play it . Which games do you have qued up for this summer or had a blast playing?

I also hear The Sims 3 is coming out soon (June 2?)

Well, I've played Sim City 3000 before (I think it's called that), and it was good - especially the cheat codes. (because it takes so long - when I quit, I use the cheats ) Thanks for the link offers... maybe I'll ask you when I've got a few more things done IRL.

But I was hugely into Civilization a few years back - but I haven't played civ IV or whatever else they released after.

And got into gemcraft. XD This "prequel" - the chapter zero- is more complicated than the original, but it takes so long to complete because of all the modes (even on 3x speed) and my computer crashed=lost save info. [link]

Certainly. It can be a bit tricky at times too, so I may need to explain one or two things before you get started (otherwise it may be frustrating )

Some of my friends have talked about the Civilization series but I've never played it myself, I may look into that.

Man, that gemcraft is addicting. I've always enjoyed the tower destroyer types of games, I like their subtle simple charm...

This contest really seems to be spreading like wildfire, it'll be interesting to see all the entries when they're complete . Also, =davecheesefish made a public script for this if you'd rather not do it all by hand . Large is epic, but don't forget about the 38 pixel width limit

Yeah, its a great idea for a contest and so it's spreading like that! Yeah, it got a bit cumbersome after making just 4 lines of bullets on my own... Thanks for the link to the script! I'll see if it can help me get a basic idea of how to arrange my bullets and then i may try to put the code down myself.....or not.

I did it in paint, wrote it out in shorthand so I could see what I was doing (1145111111) and then converted that to bullet form . I'm working on making a program for it (not Flash though [so I won't post it on dA], I don't know if that might be considered cheating or something)

T'wasn't that hard, you had it on your profile page and I'm getting really used to searching through the page source data... though I'm impressed that you got it all to work as well as you have. And referring to what you said about icons not working on the comments, I think they have a special div class like "name" or something that is supposed to format it to be in two columns, but isn't accessible in the custom box (or I'm just missing a key alteration point). I fiddled with it earlier and the best I could do was get the avatar above the triangle (outside the innermost box on the comment, but inside the box around the comment) rather than to the left of the triangle

Yeah, I think you've mentioned that a few times, that's why I did the Mario one by hand

I don't really plan on making any more entries, so there shouldn't be a concern if I cheated or not.

Did he at least ask you first? Seems like that would have really ruined your contest if you hadn't wanted that... that's pretty much the whole reason I made my version in Java rather than Flash where it could be made publicly visible.

Haha yeah, it's pretty much just pixel art in a way, the same restrictions of space, canvas size and palette, except that the pixels are now bullets!

It wasn't that bad actually, only a couple hours this afternoon. I made the pic in paint and then just recreated it in text form . I was toying with the idea of making a program for it, but I think that would probably take too long...
